NASA delays launch of space shuttle Atlantis
The sound lightning makes isn't relatively new. If it hits a tree it goes down into ground one way. When end is reached it turns around and heads back up way it came. That is where the explosions and sounds come in with branches. Positive meets negative. The samething in air. It travels distance and bracnches out (not for sure if it meets a postive).
Thats from memorey. Lets try some links:Lightning and A Lightning Detection from Space: A Lightning Primer

There will be a decsion early today whether launch is a go Tuesday. I for one would love to see it happen. This blast off should try and take off in inclement weather. That way. They know if it is durable and the quickness should only last seconds until higher atmospheres matters....

Can we stop with the NASA thing already? It's getting embarrasing.

Somebody must be able to do space travel better in this country.

Alright here is a True story about Lightening. Last year in Kentucky. Two boys rode countryside by horseback. A thunderstorm blew up. They either took shelter in woods than broke for home or were heading to the woods for shelter. One got struck by a bolt of lightening and he passed away. The other one head for help but it was to late. Just goes to show dangers.

Was it the result of space debris impact during Atlantis’ flight?

This mission is over or is it. Sometimes will keep open until paperwork. It could transfer status to work orders. That hole looks like a bullet. It said it wasn't viable on accend or decend. But with the science channel article on Ice Testing from tradgedy. I read a reference book. There is 900000 pieces of space debris currently tracked. Ranging from the tip of astr-aunt glove to boulders of sorts...
