I have seen a plethora of opinions like that expressed towards Dzeko, for example, yet he has not been that bad, in fact, he has contributed a lot to the overall success of Roma last season. We will see what happens, but I don't think that we have so many options. I still prefer to try and win riskily, yet without unnecessary expenditures, although in the end, buying an over-priced player could end up being a greater risk than not buying one. How often have teams bought big names for a lot of money only to then be disappointed with their performances? Ancelloti says there is potential in Milik, so I will wait to see if he was right, and if not, I'll personally kick him in the nuts.
Yup, other than that goal. Karnesis on the other hand I thought was quite decent although he was awful in the Liverpool game.
That is what happens when you sell your best player. Ancelotti is going to be a disaster. He is past it. He never really had to coach. Always had top players.
#Napoli expected to bench Dries Mertens in favour of Arkadiusz Milik in Saturday's #SerieA opener against #Lazio https://t.co/VtRuR7f7bg #LazioNapoli pic.twitter.com/wIaPfKX44R— Football Italia (@footballitalia) August 15, 2018 Unpopular hot-take : Sarri made Mertens look elite. I would've sold him this summer. His value is going plummet and Carlo won't get nearly this same production out of him.
Sorry to say this, but now I must concede that I have immediately felt like it as well. This shit is just too identical to that of the past. Benitez ignored the best player like he was nothing and if Ancelloti plans to do it as well now then it better work. I can't go back to ignoring Mertens, the injustice in such conduct is too obvious. This would actually be preferable to that which happened in the past, when Mertens outshined everyone who had been on the pitch for 70 minutes in 20 minutes, coming off the bench, yet still Benitez would not play him...
Benching Mertens is the biggest joke. Agree complete injustice. He is better than Insigne, Milik or Callejon.
I have always said insigne would become world class if he played central. Ancelotti got it wrong when I posted that before, he is slowly adopting Sarri's style into his own system and I gotta admit boy was I wrong, love ancelotti
