Its been announced, a WUSA All-Star game on Sept. 21st in Portland. To be aired nationally on PAX at 1:00pm PST. Name your Atlanta Beat 2002 All-Stars (limit yourself to no more than 6 picks). My picks (so far this season) in no particular order: 1) Homare Sawa 2) Nikki Serlenga 3) Kylie Bivens 4) Charmaine Hooper 5) Briana Scurry 6) Cindy Parlow
I bet Nonen misplays are a contributor to more goals, than Bri's misques. If they split it North (PHI, BOS, NY, SJ) vs South (ATL, CAR, DC, SD) again I want to see a Southern front line of : PARLOW - PRINZ - WAMBACH - HOOPER The North team wouldn't even come out of the locker room.
Right now the ONLY player that has brought their "A" game to virtually ever situation is Sawa. This is in the process of changing but throughout most of the season, until just recently, the rest of the team has been so up and down that none deserve all star status. To me an all star is a player that plays at or near the top of their form virtually every game and that top is above the standard for the league. No player on the Beat, except Sawa, has performed in that manner with consistency this year. The run to the final is also where the chaff is separated and there are several players that are looking good right now and can, and maybe should, move on to my list. But right now my only Beat all star is Sawa.
