As I was typing about Wan-Bissaka in the Transfer thread he showed kinda what I was talking about. The Palace keeper was under pressure, needed an outlet, and looked for WB but he never even began to show until after the pass was made. He doesn't look comfortable on the ball in the back, like he doesn't really want it. It could have easily been a pass that was jumped by Cardiff and let them back into the game 2-2.
Pity that Cardiff got themselves relegated today. Brighton, since they are now safe may not play as hard tomorrow vs Arsenal. Any help on their part might have boosted our cause. Always was a longshot anyway.
Liverpool concede and still come out of it lucky, somehow. TAA should have been sent off. Deliberate handball on the line.
There's little doubt that Newcastle are up for it and I would bet that Rafa was not inclined in doing Pool and Klopp any favors. He won them their last big trophy and I'd venture he wants it to stay that way a while longer. But Newcastle's defense has been terrible so far: both goals are very soft, with the marking all but non existent.
Rondon, baby, 2-2! Despite having conceded 2 preventable goals, Newcastle look like they've come to play today and are a handful to Pool. On a separate note, Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have recorded 11 assists each so far this season. That's just incredible FB play.
Salah is being stretchered off after a collision with Dubravka. Curious to see the replay of this as it looked pretty innocuous. Origi has come on for him.
Origi scores as a result of a very dodgy freekick for Pool: really don't think that was a foul from Ritchie on Fabinho, who absolutely made the most of it.
Mickey mousers gonna do what they do; The ‘free kick’ from which Liverpool created their only chance of the last half hour of a game they had to win. #NEWLIVhttps://t.co/w9RlYMSG1f— Duncan Castles (@DuncanCastles) May 4, 2019
Bayern did, unfortunately, as Bayern keep finding ways to bottle it. They were up 2-0 in this one, yet could not hold on. Bayern Munich 3-1 HannoverWerder Bremen 2-2 Borussia DortmundThe champions open up a 4-point gap at the top. 🍺 pic.twitter.com/5V5TRu6xLo— B/R Football (@brfootball) May 4, 2019
It was a draw. Liverpool with another one of those special moments that usually swings a title race. It would be quite incredible if it was all for nothing and City still pulled it off. Cross fingers. Often times you'll hear the pundits hype up the title race as the best the game has ever seen, but this has truly become quite a race between two fantastic sides.
Liverpool will be 10 points lower next year just due to VAR catching all these lucky breaks they're getting.
