Mexico has better players man for man. I don't see how anyone can dispute that. Mexico has players at top European clubs like Barcelona, Stuttgart, PSV, etc.....Teams that are competing for league titles and champions league spots. The US on the other hand has players that play for crappy EPL teams that usually end up fighting relegation battles. That said I feel the US plays a smarter game tactically by playing to their strengths. They seem to have a stronger team spirit and they don't self destruct when things don't go their way. It's not pretty to watch, but it does seem to be effective. The US could use a lot more "Mexico" in it's game. As far as youth development is concerned Mexico is ahead, but the US is improving in this area. The next 20 years will be very interesting to see how this match up plays out and progresses.
