Thursday July 7th, 2005 It appears to be tied to transit, buses and subways. Entire transit system has been shutdown.
3 buses blown up, multiple blasts on the underground, reported some deaths Looks like a terrorist attact to me,
Its is thought that there have been multiple explosions on buses (1 confirmed) and several on the underground. No fatalities have been confirmed but it is thought there will be some especially on the underground where 2 trains remain stuck.
Interesting timing considering England just won the bid for the Olympics. I hope no one was hurt or killed, although I doubt that's likely. My prayers are with them.
Just watching Sky news and it says at least 90 people injured at allgate underground station thats is looking bad
I'm listening to it on the radio at work. I've heard of four explosions on the tube and three on buses in central London, unconfirmed at the moment. BBC radio news are reporting of a queue of helicopters waiting to land at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. I'm in Marylebone and I can hear constant emergency services' sirens going by.
Early warning, everyone fvcking focus on what is going on in London. NO politics right now. Please. Hopefully more of our friends in London will get in here with a quickness and update us on just what is going on.
Initially reported as "a power surge" in the Underground. Is it a sign of the times, I wonder, that everyone who read that (on the Beeb) just went "yeah, right. Fucking bombs, mate!". Trying to raise London friends and family at the mo.
making things more difficult for londoners to catch up with each other is the fact that the mobile phone system is all but down AND internet service is sporadic just no more, that's enough
From the timings of the explosions, it looks like they hit the tube, got it shut down and then hit the buses as people were transferring onto them.
Just got home from a couple of worrying hours on the trains, tube and buses. I can see why they said it was a power surge, people just shrugged their shoulders and went to get a coffee. Now that I'm watching the news I realise the gravity of it. The timing of the bombs can only point towards a terrorist attack but its difficult to draw parallels with the Madrid bombings. Obviously nothing like New York either. What amazed me the most was how so many people were determined to get to work. I overhead people talking about explosions but were still pushing their way onto buses (before they were stopped) or figuring out which way to walk. Why would you try to travel to work when the city is under attack?
