OUR LOVABLE HEROES ARE ONCE AGAIN LEARNING THAT DESPITE ALL THEIR SUCCESS AND GLORY, NOTHING IS EASY IN THIS CONTEST. THE ATTACK FALTER ONCE AGAIN, ALLOWING THE SWAMP CREATURES FROM THE FAR SOUTH TO GAIN A COMFORTABLE VICTORY. FOR OUR YELLOW CLAD CREW, VICTORY HAS BEEN A MIRAGE OF THE PAST FOR THE PAST FEW EPISODES. IT SEEMS TO BE ALL THEY CAN MUSTER TO HOLD THEIR OPPONENTS TO A STALEMATE. NOW, THEY HIT THE ROAD AGAIN AND TRAVEL WEST, TO COME FACE TO FACE WITH A GROUP OF MAGIC USERS. THE FORMERLY ROBOT LEADER IS BEGINNING TO FEEL THE PRESSURE. OUR HEROES FEEL THE PRESSURE. THE CITIZENS OF OUR CITY DO NOT TOLERATE MEDIOCRITY FOR LONG. CAN OUR HEROES FIND THAT WINNING TOUCH ONCE AGAIN?!
So someone is getting sacked and the season will be completed in an entirely different style at great expense and at the last minute?
Does it matter? We're gonna lose, some people will eat ribs, we will have possession, Yada Yada Yada, who cares. Besides, without polls for win by, tie, or lose by, why are we even here? And who the eff is Big J, anyway? Has this place gone totally to hell while I've not been here? Jumpin Jesus on a pogo stick. They will just let anyone run things these days. I feel like an old person who goes back somewhere and just is befuddled by the place. Never mind, that's what I am.
I don't think there's any way this is the game that gets Caleb Porter fired. Kansas City may only be 2-6, but they're one of those pain-in-the-ass teams that's hard to play against (usually; I haven't seen much of them so far this year), and they historically do pretty well at home. On paper, they're vulnerable, but there are enough "yeah buts" to go around. But I think if we lose this match, it turns next week's home game against DC (who are 2-4 now and could very well be 2-5 by then) into the "win or be fired" game. Come to think of it, there's enough of a case to be made that the DC game is a win-or-be-fired game for Porter even if we WIN at KC.
If we lose to the Wiz and Porter remains, I anticipate a European like atmosphere in the Nordecke. I will try to not be angry.
I will trust you know how the Nordecke works these days. I am suspicious that the majority of supporters will hesitate to “be negative.”
Toxic positivity is real and is challenging to overcome. Though I am not in favor of booing the players at this point, if the suggested tifo was a 60-foot tall pink sheet I'd be supportive.
Hi. I'm Big J. I took over making the Crew game threads in 2019. I decided to pretend that the crew and its games are all a part of a serialized tv show. If you would like to know more, please feel free to reach out. my dms are open
Upon reflection, I did feel a little bit bad about doing the Hey Gysai chant with berry still out there. Those that did the chant will partake in any fire porter shenanigans. Those who yelled at me for doing it will not. And the latter probably would be fine with us just making the playoffs. Longer rant will come at some time. But tldr: Berhalter consistently took this team to the playoffs, while Porter has only managed it once and had a substantially higher team salary.
I forget whether it was here or twitter, but someone said, "If you are still sticking around to sing Wise Men after after the matches after watching this garbage, you are a sucker."
Oh for sure. I've always liked when the crowds in Spain wave handkerchiefs at the coach to say their goodbyes.
This is hilarious and would be awesome. But I'm afraid it wouldn't land. What was it Andres Mendoza said?
I have to jump in here, real quick, with my Comms Director hat on: The Nordecke did not make a Watson/Haslam protest; a group of fans staged a display of their displeasure with the Watson situation from the seats in the Nordecke section of the stadium.
I wonder what the Venn Diagram looks like of those protestors and supporters wanting to demonstrate against Caleb Porter.
I'm sure it depends where one located inside the Nordecke. I seem to constantly find a lot of people who would much rather converse amongst their friends than focus on singing for 90. Yet I'm sure there are areas where people do sing for 90.
