Montreal and Toronto teams are supposed to hate each other. The more fuel on the fire the better the rivalry match will be. Getting the fans in full hatred mode can only help the attendance for all of the matches between the two clubs.
TFC making the move to expand capacity at BMO will need some for sure MLS matches that can be packed and heavily sold out in advance.
Saputo's comments about getting Olympic Stadium up to snuff enough to at least get a new roof to enable matches to be played safely even when it snows. Will at least be able to prove that select matches at Olympic for the Impact will fill seats to a 50K plus that has been done not that long ago.
Someone would need to organize an effort to get Olympic back to at least safe with a new roof to start.
Saputo should become that guy to get all parties that would benefit from having an enclosed venue in Montreal with capacity to host major events.
CFL Als for the ability to host a GC and Playoff games.
Montreal Baseball Group and Canada Baseball to begin looking at an expanded end of Spring training series of games as well as Team Canada in connection with events, qualifiers, and hosting team Canada's pool in the WBC.
As the Expos once had to have some home series played in another city. Tampa Bay Rays series in Montreal would have a high amount of interest with division rivals like Red Sox, Yankees, and of course Toronto.
Impacts newly French Broadcast partner TVA under Quebecor Brand which now manges the new NHL Arena in QC and spared no expense to buy the Remparts for 20 million.
Stealing some of TFCs and MLSE's thunder by having the ability to lure some bigger soccer events to Montreal with a 50K-60K capacity with temp grass moved in for matches.
