Why is Milner still playing.... Offers nothing except giving away possession.

    Fck Milner!!!
unmarked with 10 yards of space in the box and chips it straight into the keepers arms..

Dunno. I said before that not having him available was a HUGE loss at the european shindig but if players throw their toys out the pram, what you gonna do?

seems he is always in the lineup, regardless of other options..

Annoys me how Lescott consistently looks away from the man in possession, even when the ball is dead. He is frightened to death of receiving the ball. No more than an average defender either.

And he can be a great defender as well. It's just that every so often he does things of such mind-bending idiocy it almost defies belief. He was like it when he was at the chels. I remember the tinkerman providing him with some some 'feedback' on more than one occasion :D

Milner takes the free kick in a prime position!!!
skids it along the floor and hits the first defender.

Getting sloppy now. JT knocks it miles past GJ when under no pressure.

The pitch doesn't help the passing game either, does it.

Carrick has looked decent since he came on to be fair..
he has fed the ball into some good area's only for caveman milner to waste the move.

I think he's there to cover GJ's raiding forward but, yeah.... doesn't offer a great deal atm.

Yeah I know, but he has improved, and actually still continues to, albeit slowly. Noticing a bit more decisiveness about him these days, and less dithering.

If he can keep himself in good shape, he could be some fullback when he's 34 :D

He had that one mistake where he headed it to them breaking forward where he'd only just come into the game but, yeah, he's a good player. All the more irritating he wasn't interested when we needed him.

Well played Defoe. Seems a likeable enough guy and by all accounts has had a tough time of it over the last few years.

Still don't want him starting against decent opponents though.

That was ridiculous, although I like Welbeck's composure. Hoddle said at half time on the channel I'm watching that this side is Conference level - can't say I disagree.

I enjoyed that, sometimes playing minnows away can be painful.

Easy win 5-0. I thought Terry should have come off earlier. We could have held out for the comfortable win even with 10 men at that stage. Terry might now miss the next game.

3 pts in the bag, first England goals for Milner and Baines and +5 GD. The other good news is that the Poles could only draw in Montenegro 2-2. Ukraine up next.

Walcotts control is awful. Think its time for chamberlain to replace him as first choice on a long term basis

Good result, good performance. Even during periods of pressure we were keeping the ball on the ground. Now if we can just get Hart to stop whacking it up field....
