I hear Carroll has withdrawn from the squad after being injured on his West Ham debut.

    Yep.

Not sure he was gonna be playing but, even so, restricts the options :(

Someone like Graham from Swansea could have been called in. Woy keeps failing to adequately replace injured players .

Seems so silly to ignore forward options when we have time to bring one in. Makes it look like a closed shop.

Be nice to see at least 4 goals in the back of the opponents net for this match, no matter who Roy decides to field.

Seems that Roy's tactical masterplan is to play Gerrard and Lampard together. If only someone had thought of this before.....

How do we know that???

Anyway, against Moldova I'd like to think we'd be OK almost REGARDLESS of who we put out.

Not replacing injured players is not only sloppy and lazy ,its also a wasted opportunity for other players. The squad has been left unbalanced now that Cole is also injured. Not calling up replacements is something that Pearce always does and now it seems Hodgson does too. We only get a small number of games per year so we should have a full squad. No excuses .

Have Moldova got any decent players?

They are an unknown quantity. In their time they have pulled off afew upsets though. I think they beat Holland at home not long back .

dont know what to expect from moldova, hope its not going to be like the game against montenegro a while back. Playing against small teams who are defensively organised is always a tedious thing to watch

Montenegro have some good players, they were always going to be tricky. I've not heard of a single Moldovian player. We've got to be looking to win.

Again Milner is playing as a wide player when we have far better players in that position! We are playing against Moldova ffs... I think that although it looks better as we are lining up in a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 there are still some things that could be better.. I would have liked to see Carrick, Welbeck and Walker but hopefully in the second half.

Im perplexed what any manager see's in Milner. Got no skill attack wise or defensively. Just a runner who gives the ball away constantly .

It seems that every manager seems to have a hard on for him.. Mancini does, Capello did and now Hodgson does as well! Even listening to ITV commentary Andy Townsend sounds like he's climaxing whenever Milner touches the ball.

More often than not that is stepping on the ball or blunting an attack though haha. Granted he can have some good moments - he did alright against Italy when he came on, but i'm hoping that Johnson will be back in for his place when he returns from injury

Lets see how many times Milner puts a cross in and it doesnt get past the first defender .

Within 10 minutes I bet. One thing I am pleased about though is that Hodgson is ignoring Bent.. the offside flag gets raised more times than he touches the ball when he plays for us.

Terrible decision, wasn't it. Still, after some of the shit we've had to put up with, I'll take it.

OK! Terrific ball by GJ and a great header by Frank. This lot are making us look like Brazil atm.
