And looks pretty good. Although Chivas' offense has been, uh, not really the best of tests so far this season...
Look on the bright side, makes your annual playoff thread much easier at least for the western conference.
Colorado in 2004 (29 in 30 games). RSL in 2005 (30 in 32 games) Chivas USA in 2005 (31 in 32 games). Crew in 2006 (30 in 32 games) Toronto in 2007 (25 in 30 games) New York in 2009 (27 in 30 games) DC in 2010 (21 in 30 games) Chivas USA with 14 goals in 21 games (0.667 gpg) is on pace to end up with 23 goals in 34 games. Which would be the worst all time goals per game average in MLS history.
exactly. tonights game was against a completely impotent Chivas team that simply can't score. Seattle's win was the more impressive.
For all the excitement people had when Agudelo was traded to Chivas, it certainly has been a letdown so far watching him play. I know he was out for a while with the injury, but still, he's played in 7 games, 6 of those starts, and just hasn't one much. He had one nice headed goal back in May, but otherwise it's been a lot of nothing.
Serves 'em right for trading for Angel when he was done 2 years ago, keeping Moreno who now runs at the pace other people walk, and have a guy named Zamanski who I swear was worse than me at that age (and that was 3 years after my college ball had ended). Pile on top of that Sharlie "I'll keep playing at a crawl" Joseph, Juan "oh crap, I actually got the trade I wanted- what do I do now?" Aguedelo and a bunch of guys from Latin America that will be gone in 3 months (again) and you have the makings of a really bad offensive unit. Good thing they have Danny "if I get any slower they will give me my AARP card early" Califf in defense.
Exactly. Who's making the decisions? Is the goal to destroy the franchise entirely? If so, they're doing a hell of a job.
It seems like LA has to get the chemistry right or they're helpless. I won't be surprised if word leaks out about rivalries behind the scenes or something similar. When things click, though, they seem to be increasingly dangerous, especially to weak teams like Chivas and Portland...
I think getting our first choice back-four together for the first time this evening might have had a little to do with the difference between tonight and last week in Seattle. Plus we were basically playing at home, vs. last week on the road against 60,000 and turf... And yes, Seattle is WAY better than Chivas right now...
Chivas has to have the oldest roster in MLS, right? Dan Kennedy 30 Peter Vagenas 34 Juan Pablo Angel 36 Ante Jazic 36 Alejandro Moreno 33 Laurent Courtois 33 Shalrie Joseph 34 Danny Califf 32 John Alexander Valencia 30 If the league lost all these players, with the exception of Kennedy, can anyone honestly say the level of play would in MLS would decrease?
They're 5th in average age (after Montreal, Colorado New York, and San Jose). They have a bunch of really young guys too (some of whom actually play, like Agudelo), but very few players in their prime.
