Friday offers both the Olympic Men's Soccer Bronze Medal Game, and the rematch of the "top of the east" clash between the Dynamo and the Red Bulls - this time in New Jersey. The TFC-Columbus game scheduled for this weekend is postponed until 22 August so members of the Crew can attend the funeral of Kirk Urso. Still four games on tap plus the Oly game. All game times are EDT, and all games are broadcast on MLS Live and Direct Kick unless otherwise noted. Friday 10 August Houston at New York, 8:00, NBCSN Saturday 11 August Salt Lake at Vancouver, 7:00 DC at Kansas City, 8:30 Colorado at Dallas, 9:00 Seattle at San Jose, 10:30 Sunday 12 August Montreal at New England, 7:00 Chicago at Philadelphia, 7:00, Galavision Los Angeles at Chivas USA, 11:00, ESPN2 As always, keep it friendly here in the neutral PBP thread.
I could be wrong but I believe the Bronze Medal game is today but the Gold Medal game is tomorrow. I'm not 100% sure about that though.
Despite what seems like a very poor season by your Chivas boys, this is a huge game for them v. the Galaxy for their playoff hopes. A lot riding on the SuperClassico this time around.
It will be interesting to see what lineup Vermes puts out there after the physical and emotional whirlwind of the USOC final on Wednesday night. The good thing for SKC is that this ends a really nasty chunk of the schedule where they had midweek games (including friendlies and USOC) every week since the break in early June. That's 17 games in 46 days. Yikes....and whew.
Yes, a true "6-pointer" with playoff implications. If the Galaxy win this one, the gap is probably too big for Chivas to overcome. But if Chivas pulls out a win here, it's game on...
Wow, didn't realize there were four top-tier clashes. And LA is not chivas. They're never chivas. The Galaxy own that barn.
New York: Starting XI vs. Houston: Gaudette, Lade, Holgersson, Pearce, Miller, Le Toux, McCarty, Cahill, Lindpere, Cooper, Henry #RBNY Subs: Vuolo, Keel, Conde, Solli, Tainio, Marquez, Palsson #RBNY
If the thought of NYRB didn't make me want to piss, I'd begin drinking right now. NBCSN... I'd rather watch another special about the Dream Team on NBC.
Let's hope your feeling comes to fruition I will say, smart move bringing in Kenny up top with Henry and keeping Pearce far away from Kandji. Lade should be able to deal a little better with Mac, so long as he doesn't push into the attack too much.
I thought this game was going to be a sellout or near sellout??? Maybe I read the twitter post wrong.
McCarty is back too, could make a difference. I'm going to predict a 1-1 draw tonight in a snoozer. Just the way we like it on the road
Ugh It's the national anthem - not a career move C'mon. we're right by Broadway = we don't need no American Idol wannabe.
