The league is getting paid a boatload of money by a service that never has to release viewership numbers lol win win.
Six simultaneous streams. I am not sure on stringency. We added Geeg to our family account so he had access without password sharing. Apple reminds me a bit of Amazon in that I am not interested in sharing that password with others. Perhaps that is just me.
Ok. I just watched half an inning of the Guardians game. I’m not a fan of the constant re focus. Dugout interview looked like it was taken with an iPhone on a selfie stick. Focus was all jacked. I know it’s different and it’s a cool thing these days but Premier League it isn’t. Hopefully they treat soccer a little better.
This is how the One True Demographic likes things, you see. The future is wacky "authenticness", and a totally-not-contrived "DIY feel".
I loved it. Awesome stat integration, really high quality feed and pretty good announcing. Was impressed.
Jordan Angeli was a co-host on Extratime today. I’d be shocked if she’s not signed on as a commentator for next year by the league.
I’m continually amazed at how much better Jordan is on podcast/radio as opposed to tv. So much better.
Will they send her to some class so she's not constantly stumbling over words/ideas and can clearly communicate?
That can happen to people in a live situation, you know. I am pretty sure you are exaggerating the "constantly" considering that I never even notice it. Maybe you are just far more anal-retentive and need a good course of laxatives to loosen that sphincter right up.
The Crew ran an ad for the Charlotte game yesterday afternoon. At least the night game had an ad for our actual next home game.
In all honesty, I have been thinking about this issue for a while. When Jordan started commentating for Crew, I thought highly of her commentary and observations. She reminds me of when good teams play down to the level of a “bad” team opponent. edit: Awhile versus a while. Ugh.
MLS just sold it’s betting data and streaming rights to IMG Arena, $270 million over 8 years. Apparently MLS Next Pro is included. So, I thought that was part of the Apple package?
I'm not sure it includes traditional broadcast/streaming, more like advanced data streaming with potential for real time betting on games. All the releases are full of marketing big words.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-...-term-global-partnership-to-power-next-genera I don't see anything in here about streaming...
So from what I've read, this is just data & analytics to enhance the gaming & gambling aspect of MLS.
