Sucks but it's the right thing to do, and shouldn't surprise anyone. Major League Soccer Suspends Season for 30 Days pic.twitter.com/FLUqzttwrK— MLS Communications (@MLS_PR) March 12, 2020
Yeah just saw this. They would look foolish not to take a step like this. Saw a quote in this AP story from the non-Beckham Miami owner saying that based on the league-wide call, they still plan to play the full 34-match season.
Do we get a do-over or mulligan on the start of the season? I predicted that we would have more than 1 point by the 3rd game!!
With major sporting events being cancelled/postponed/suspended, I kinda wonder if videogames and Esports will experience an implosion. Almost makes me wish I had the latest FIFA. It's be cool if teams thought to have these virtual tournaments with players who are gamers playing with or against them. Just a thought to keep people engaged. It's so weird imagining life without these sporting events.
Not a book, but.... ....and with that prompting, I've quickly restored to the DVR all #NERevs, #NHLBruins , #Celtics , #MLS, and #EPL games I recently deleted...It seems likely that I'm going to get to know these games real well. https://t.co/JWtpnqvExJ— A Casual Fan (@A_Casual_Fan) March 12, 2020
Glad to see that the EPL looks to be following suit: Gary Neville @GNev2 · 3h It needed a PL manager to contract the virus for them to act! Embarrassing leadership from the @premierleague Sorry about the botched tweet copy. Seems out of character that American sports are in the vanguard on this. On the reading front, I highly recommend the Dublin Murder series. Not quite thrillers, Monty, but good whodunit's.
I would have made that same recommendation a couple of months ago, but probably not now. https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/mindhunter-season-3-netflix-1203469023/

I've been watching Criminal Minds, a show about FBI agents who profile serial killers. It involves some pretty creepy stuff, but it's a good show. 15 seasons worth, so we're going to be watching for a while. There was another show that I can't remember the name, but it was about a plane that goes missing for 5 years. They assume the plane crashed and they all died, but one day it lands and the people on the plane are no different. But life has moved on and everyone is 5 years older. The 10-year-old kid comes back and all his friends are in high school and he's still 10. Anyone know the show I'm talking about?
I think you're talking about Manifest? I'm trying to spend my time learning to not procrastinate my school work. It's really bizarre having all classes go online. I know my screenwriting class can endure it, but my others? Eh. It is what it is. The professors are using this week to figure it all out before online classes begin next week. I'm also trying to get over a nasty stomach bug. I'm hoping it's just a stomach bug.
I'm wondering if this season will get played in front of fans at all. I know MLS needs ticket sales to make money, but I have doubts whether public gatherings are going to be sensible at any point before August.
