I'm sorry if this has been discussed on the Super Draft thread (12 pages are a lot to sift through even with a cable modem). Is anyone planning on getting together on Friday at 11am central at an establishment that carries Fox Soccer Channel?
Same here, as long as it around downtown. Greg, since I am just across the street from you, you can ride along with me. Just let me know.
Damn, this sounds like fun. I might have to see if I can work out of downtown KC on Friday. The rumor mill is hot and heavy. If it is to be believed, we might see something unusual out of the Wizards.
I haven't had time to look around so if you could post any rumors or a link to a thread where I can just read them for myself it would be much appreciated.
The only place I can think of in downtown that might work is Tanners. They have a crap-load of plasma tv's. Not sure if they FSC or not. I can call them tomorrow and find out. Any other ideas in or near downtown?
Like trading up for someone in the draft. Or actually using our draft picks not as trade bait. God I would love to have Wynne.
Tanner's might work (plenty of tvs and space). I don't know if they have FSC. I'm in class most of the day today, but I'll try and call at some point to find out.
I just called the downtown Tanners and was told that they carry Time Warner Basic Cable, only up to channel 79ish. No Digital tier so no FSC. Any other suggestions? I Thought about Buffalo Wild Wings, but not sure where the closest to downtown would be.
Downtown is sparse for establishments with FSC. I would call Harlings (Main St. and Westport Rd.) and find out if they carry it. It is a real dingy, upstairs Irish-style pub that shows all the EPL games, so they might have FSC. But they may not open til 3pm or so, but it couldn't hurt to call. The best places to go for a lunchtime watch party would be O'dowds on the Plaza or at Zona Rosa, or Fox and Hound in Independence or Overland Park (and any other location that their might be). Also, Amerisports Sports Pub in the Ameristar Casino has FSC, as well as 810 Sports Zone in Leawood. Once 810 Sports Zone goes in the new entertainment disctrict downtown next year, we won't have this problem.
Unfortunately, there are no Buffalo Wild Wings near downtown. Only in Lee's Summit, Indepedence, Raytown, Overland Park and Olathe.
Is Charlie Hooper's too far for people? I can make it no problem and they've got a great selection of beers and decent food.
Hoopers would work. 12 Baltimore does not have it. The Drum Room told me that they think they do, but nobody knows for sure, and besides they don't want to turn the music down for any reason... And I'll be happy to drive. My office is at 12th and Wyandotte. I can seat 4 in addition to myself. Bus leaves at 10:30 A.M. this Friday. Let me know!
I'll tag along with you, if you don't mind. I'm at 11th & Wyandotte. Just let me know where to meet you.
Sounds good Robert. How about we meet in the lobby of my building at 10:30. 120 W. 12th Street (I know you've been there, but just in case someone else wants to join us). Does Stan Johnston post on here? We could cart him out to Hoopers as well.
Bump. I'm trying to get my body prepped for a beer at 11 A.M... it's been a while.... ah, college... If anybody needs a ride from downtown, let me know. As of now, Robert and I are leaving at 10:30 from the lobby of the office building at 12th and Wyandotte.
Anyone have a clue as to how long we think this will take? I just got hit with 5 #1 priortiy issues for my client. May not be able to go now, depending on how long.
