WTF is up with this game...these coaches should be drummed out of the business...how can a football team (let alone 2) have such a horrid Defense?

They are dragging out stoppages in play to ridiculous lengths here.

God help us. 3 1/2 hours and still 11:20 left to play. And they just scored. And here come 1...2...3...4 commercials for cars, online trading, more cars, more cars....Kickoff....6 seconds gone....Sports Center update...Man out of bounds....8 more seconds gone....

"an inexplicable lack of coverage" on that last play....in a game that's already 58-42....boy this announcer isn't really paying attention....Oh....injury....there's another five minutes down the drain....Seven minutes, 14 seconds run off the clock....

Actually, it should be enough. Games were an average of 3:21 in 2005 and 3:06 in 2006. The 2007 rules are more like the 2005 rules so 3:30 is cutting it close, but it's well within the average.

well thanks MLS and ESPN for moving the kickoff of the match back a little but god damn this college football game sucks. these are the 2 worst defenses in the history of sport.

bahahaha... they just scrolled the ESPN.com MLS Power Rankings across the bottom of the screen.. that makes up for it.

What's rediculous is that ESPN officially scheduled the game for 3 hours, then a 30 minute post-game. So yes, they scheduled a game window that is too short for (likely*) more than half the games.

* because average <> median.

So you want ESPN to limit themselves to, say, 3 live events each day?

WTF?

And they did put a half hour buffer in - and have backed up the MLS game 17 minutes.

College football games may be "apt to long run", but this game is ridiculously long. This is not a normal case. Just like the Triple OT WNBA game. Sometimes, in sports, shit happens.

The length of this game is in no way shape or form remotely "normal".

I shoot college football games all fall, and I can't recall anything like this. It did take Duke and UVA a good half hour to get five minutes into their game last fall, but then the pace picked up.

i'm surprised they haven't put the telecast on ESPNews or ESPN Classic. they're just doing regular programming. ESPNC is doing some canned list show from a couple years ago ... that would be really easy to dump for the MLS game.

I know it seems soccer fans complain about this a lot,but can anyone else remember this happening to any other sports as frequently?? Because I can't,,,,

I haven't watched US football in so many years I'd forgotten how frickin' long these games lasted and the constant bombardment of commercials.

If I wanted to catch a couple games on a weekend, that's nearly 8 hours right there. Damn.

I'm not even that busy a person, but I can't understand who would have the time for that. I certainly don't.

They should put the power rank for D.C. and United States next to their scores, just like they show Louisville's rank (#8, how?) on the score bar.

Actually, I would bet that this type of game is pretty normal for a Louiseville game. They have never been known for defense or running out the clock.
