It's the slow season so I thought I'd throw something out that's been bugging me for awhile. Why haven't we entered into a partnership with an MLS team? Most all the other USL clubs have and while we say we have a psuedo agreement with Vancouver, why not make it official? Do we not want to or what?
Speak with a few people in the know, the Battery want to make sure they are getting into a relationship with a team that shares their ideal and just aren't looking to scarp their reserve team and dish out four players with no reason. As one of only a couple other teams that were around with the first USL agreement with MLS im sure it it is a case of once bitten, twice shy and making sure it makes sense for both parties. That said, I understand a couple MLS teams did come knocking last season and i wouldn't be surprised to see something announced leading into the holidays or new year.
