Starts tonight DC United is up first at home against F.C. Firpo, Toronto up tomorow at home against Puerto Rico and New York is Thrusday in Trinidad against W. Connection. Lets hope show better than last year when both MLS sides went home in the Preliminary qualifer round.
Re: MLS in the CONCACAF Champions League Thread That's a pretty lofty hope considering that we're sending the 2009 NYRB to the CCL. Not the team that got hot and almost won the MLS Cup, the team that could end up being worst in MLS history. So that's out of the way. As much as I hate to say it...come DCU. Make us proud.
Re: MLS in the CONCACAF Champions League Thread Hey, if the Puerto Rico Islanders can make a run in this tournament, then the Red Bulls might actually have a shot.
Re: MLS in the CONCACAF Champions League Thread i have DC winning 2-1...Toronto winning 1-0....and NY getting absolutely destroyed 4-0
Re: MLS in the CONCACAF Champions League Thread TFC fans will be in for a surprise... everyone underestimates us, just another team to add to our graveyard Already have my tickets for the game here in PR next Tuesday
Re: MLS in the CONCACAF Champions League Thread no i dont underestimate yall...i just think gerba, dero, and guevara(if he's healthy) can dispatch of you guys pretty easily
Re: MLS in the CONCACAF Champions League Thread In one sentence you say you don't underestimate us, but in the other you say your guys can beat us very easily. It's either 1 or the other, not both Btw we have beaten better teams then TFC... http://hiapr.org/yabb/Attachments/GRIM_REAPER_by_IDarkShadowI_003.jpg Thanks to GuardaEspalda S-10 of the PR Islanders hinchas forums
Word! I understand the midweek type of match, but unless the Firpo peeps are sitting on the non-camera side, I would have thought some of that local Salvadorean populous would have came out. My,my! I hope we have a respectable number in Columbus.
Cna someone more familiar with DC give me a rundown on the starter:reserve ratio we're seeing here? A number of familiar faces do not appear to be on the field tonight.
If you have the TVUPlayer you can watch the game, it's the FSC feed. I'm watching now. Stadiums seems a bit empty. http://www.tvunetworks.com/
One defender of three is a regular starter. The midfield is missing everybody, though Szetela might replace Simms eventually. One forward is a starter, though Moreno hasn't actually started all that often. It looks like we're mailing it in. DAMNIT. R.
Lineup versus San Jose on the weekend, starters tonight in bold: Josh Wicks, Marc Burch, Dejan Jakovic, Bryan Namoff, Fred, Rodney Wallace, Christian Gomez, Andrew Jacobson (Jaime Moreno 55), Ben Olsen (Danny Szetela 73), Luciano Emilio (Devon McTavish 85), Chris Pontius, Jacobson was replacing the injured Clyde Simms
Too bad TVU isn't compatible with Firefox 3.5 right now. Oh well, I watched the US-Mexico debacle in Spanish, I can watch this in Spanish too.
some very casual play from the DC backline basically creates a scoring opportunity for Firpo. Just clear it out, guys!
Re: MLS in the CONCACAF Champions League Thread Great pic! Firpo just scored. Sounds like a lot of Salvadorans there.
