If the match was not played at 2,667 m (8,750 ft) -source:wikipedia- I'd give DC a greater shot.....unfortunately for them ...... they should get tired real soon....only question is: will they hold on to the lead? (and have some oxygen) for the next 45....

I really want the Crew to get a point specifically so I don't have to watch the late game.

Killer 1-2 between Wallace and Pontius nearly leads to a goal.

PK conceded by DC. This is the moment it all falls apart.

DC United with a nice effort against one of the best teams in our region. I still don't get Columbus Crew. They top our league and are in this competition yet everytime i watch them they show nothing in their play, nothing to be excited about or worth rooting for. Please explain how do they do it.

I really haven't been paying attention so forgive this question, but do the Crew just need a tie to advance?

CONCACAF: "82' Columbus need a victory here to guarantee their berth in the quarterfinals as Group C runners-up. They have about eight minutes and stoppage to seek out a winner."

Looks like more of people not knowing the tiebreakers. A draw puts them three points ahead of Saprissa with Columbus owning the head to head tiebreaker.

    full time in Toluca... 1-1.

Good result by DC in a vacuum.. but given the situation it's unlikely to be enough. They'll need a quasi-miracle on Thursday to advance.

Both of Jabloteh's home losses have been 1-0. Marathon has been crap on the road. I'm holding out hope, but knowing it's a long shot.

They clarified it later stating the Crew would go through.

DC ties Toluca and is pretty much out of the tourney now. Marathon should beat Jabloteh since they have no points from 5 games.

I don't know if Marathon tying or losing in T&T would really be a "miracle" but DCU obviously needs help. SJJ has only lost 1-0 in their two home games to date; they could certainly tie.

Yep...going to be tough for DC to go down, but the first two matches put them in too great a hole...that last 7 minutes at SPS was the killer.

FOr an MLS team to play at almost 3000 meters and look as fresh (or not as exhausted) as DC did is pretty unheard of.... Anyway, an ok effort.... They need help, but a HOnduran team playing T&T may manage to choke again....

Jabloteh also played Marthon pretty even at SPS. The winning goal didn't come until 86' with the dagger at 90'.
