I know. I just disagree that Miazga's gypsy career is better than Richard's when Richards at least has 46 appearances in the Bundesliga and Premier League (big 4) while Miazga only has 11 in Spain (big 4) and 8 more in France if you want big 5.
You know I like Chris Richards. I just need to see a little more. I'm taking into account Miazga's whole career. Starting CB on a supporter's shield winner, starter for two years in the eredevisie (where he won the KNVB Cup), starter in the Championship for Reading, starter in Belgium for Anderlecht, blah, blah, blah. Good amount of playing time in Ligue 1 with Nantes and La Liga with Alaves (part-time starter anyway). Will probably win at least another SS in MLS this season. Its a better resume that people give him credit for. Again, I'm not talking about talent. I'm talking about career. Richards is only starting.
He played 8 times for nantes and 11 for alaves. That isnt a lot of playing time and shows his ceiling as a player.
That's pretty good. I'm not a big fan if his but if the 6 or 7th CB is even playable in La Liga, we've come a long way baby.
And Richards has played how many games for Crystal Palace? So you're making a case for "best career" from 5 appearances for Bayern and 1.5 years at Hoffenheim. And by the way, he was injured for part of that time too. The first half-season he played 11 games for them, and the second only 19. I get it. I think he has more talent than Miazga. I just need to see more to say Richards has had a "better career." I need to see him stay healthy, and accomplish more. That's just me.
It's tough to get a good agent when you're 16 or 18 unless you have very rich parents or connections. There's a good chance going to end up in a meat factory with lots of Africans and Latin-Americans.
I was surprised that at this point in his career Richards has so many more appearances with big four teams than Miazga. Miazga mostly played for second tier leagues so if length of career or total games matter he definitely has the edge but comparing to say Baseball I take the guy with 46 appearances in the bigs over a guy with 11/19 (depending on whether you consider France a big).
There's a huge difference between Zusi and Lennon. Lennon was coached professionally at Salt Lake and Liverpool and has been on the nats radar since 2013. Zusi didn't turn pro until he was 22.
Why are you posting in this thread? Jones versus Lennon is the sort of thing that would be a topic of this thread.
As regards those two, I like Dejuan Jones better. But I've admittedly not watched enough of either to be confident in that. Lennon has some real positive attributes like his crossing and getting into good attacking positions, but he's not a standout athlete nor defender, while Jones is. I think Lennon is too slow to be the difference maker for the US that he is for Atlanta right now. And, further, I think Jones is more the type of player that Berhalter wants as a fullback. I think he shows more grit, as well, which is an intangible attribute that I value greatly. All that said, Lennon's numbers are really, really good this year for a fullback and I'd be happy if he got called into a camp and got some minutes. EDIT: Also, they aren't competing for the same position, as Lennon plays RB and Jones LB. However, Jones is a right-footed left back which gives him a few more points for versatility (not to mention the general added value of being able and accustomed to playing on the left).
Quinn Sullivan actually produced some end product tonight! Scored a banger of a goal, and also played a nice pass that lead to the tying PK in stoppage time.
Lennon isnt good enough to play defense internationally against good comp but can join the party against lower levels. Similar to Gressel.
Reporting on the DC-Atlanta tilt, not a good showing for Lennon. He had acres of space on the right and did nothing in the first half, meanwhile DC put Benteke wide in order to rag doll Lennon repeatedly. On the other hand, I thought Miles Robinson acquitted himself well. Wiley looked tidy on the ball but susceptible on defense.
