I know they exist, and that Adidas makes them. but fitted caps, like those of New Era, are not Adidas' forte. While fitted caps are originally a baseball thing, they have also become a dominant trend in American culture. I had seen a person wearing an earthquakes cap in the stands yesterday, and regretted not taking the time to go buy one. Essentially, does you own a cap of your favorite team? what is your opinion on the idea?
I don't wear caps, but I think its a great idea. My cousin from New Jersey has literally never been spotted without his Devils (NHL) hat on. Fitteds are like T-shirts and all other sports apparel. To be honest MLB owes a major portion of their revenues to people buying their hats because the color scheme and logo are cool.
I definitely agree Alky. Even the NHL is marketing the team through caps, since they know there are sufficient people who will wear the teams gear.
RBNY season tix holders got fitted mesh caps for our gift this year. not the best gift, but it's pretty cool. i think they might sell them in the bull shop, too.

Edit - the cosmos one is spot on I must admit I've never seen something like this before for MLS. Lids has a customize your own fitted feature in most of their stores, and I now have half a mind to go in there and make my own RBNY fitted. Those usually run $35-$40 I believe.

Won't happen so long as MLS have their contract with addidas unfortunately. Agree with OP, it would be wicked if all of the MLS teams would have someone like Jeff Staple design New Era hats for them, just like the Cosmos have done. I could see there being some really cool designs out of FC Dallas's logo and colors alone.
Yeah, I don't think it would actually happen, just would like to see it happen. I think New Era make the best fitted ball caps.
AFAIK they won't do custom hats on products with existing copyrights. They might make a hat with the letters RBNY on it for instance but couldn't use any logos or anything of that nature. And the OP is also right that the Addidas fitted hats are worthless.
i have one of the adidas red bulls fitted caps and i regret buying it. adidas is just bad at fitted hats. i'd stick with anything flexfit or new era.
I'm wearing a Union fitted hat with a mesh backing in the picture in my profile. I got it at a local Dick's near my house. It's the only Union hat I own, so I beat the shit out of that thing, and it's held up really well.
+1 rep for the right idea. just like this. have you ever considered posting this on the galaxy facebook wall? id make templates based off of every team and start posting them on there in order to push for this sort of thing to happen.
This seriously is a great idea to help MLS grow, kids who might not even like soccer will buy the hats just because they look cool, then you will have a walking billboard for MLS, not to mention another source of revenue.
id liketo think that it helps continue a kids like for a team as he gets older, and see older people wearing it. This style of hat has become pretty dominant in american culture, and i definitely believe MLS should push for an agreement a company that specifically makes these. I see sharks hats everywhere here, simply because of the simplicity of wearing it, and because they are available.
I dont normally wear hats unless they are fitted. Some of my favorite hats I have ever owned are Wizards/Sporting Adidas fitted hats. I have 5 or 6 of them.

I think you can send emails all you want but since Adidas' contract goes through till 2018 it won't make a difference unfortunately I can't see a scenario where Adidas would agree to stop making hats and let New Era take that over.
