And all those high schoolers are friends or family of Mathis, eh?
I vote for Rochester and another team in the greater NYC area. WE NEED A NEW YORK DERBY
Well i think that Nashville is a perfect town for an MLS expansion team. It has one of the fastest growing populations in the U.S. and it has plenty of feilds for them to play on, for example; vanderbilt feild, LP feild(adelfia colesium) or the gaylord entertainment center. also Nashville has had and expansion team in the past. The Nashville Predators, and the attendance at the gaylord entertainment center has done very well for that team. So why not let Nashville have an MLS expansion team?
hey, umm new york dosent need another team why does one state get two and some have none? why not let another state have a chance at having a team?
I voted for Rochester, with an honourable mention to Philadelphia.
I want Seattle
Wichita Kansas, we used to have the indoor team (Wings) but they were dispanded a few years ago.
Philadelphia and Seatle are the two logical choices from the list available...Though Rochester would bring a great local market for the MLS, they do not have the national media prescense the other cities have...Philadelphia and Seatle would attract more national media attention
Where's Phoenix on this list, their next
Being from Washington State, I had to vote for Seattle.
It would make me actually enjoy MLS.
I remember the old Cleveland Stokers and the Cleveland Cobras. I would love to see Cleveland, especially with Randy Lerner owning Aston
Portland and Seattle! YEAH!
Anythign that deals with philly...
New Jersey is a great state for soccer..however soccer in south jersey is way more popular than it is with north jersey.
Why not a poll of rich guys. "Which two rich guys should buy MLS expansion spots"?
And seriously, Charleston, SC, WTF?
Where did that come from.
Come on folks, use your brain before posting.
This is pretty much just asking where people are from.
...it came from a three year old poll someone dug up for reasons unknown.
Did it take you long to figure that out
So when is this actually gonna happen?
In terms of the above 2004 poll, it already has; that round had Real Salt Lake and Chivas USA enter. We're already on to the next round, as Toronto entered this year, and theoretically another team will enter next year or the year after.
Whoops haha How many MLS teams are there?
The northwest (Seattle) and southeast (Atlanta, MLS has already failed in Florida) areb lacking MLS teams. I would also like a team near where I live in Nassau County, NY.
MLS has 13 teams.
Atlanta is the largest city in the most ignored region for the Game. MLS needs to target it, and quickly.
People rag on the ATL for not being a good sports town because the transplant population is so large, but there are no Celtics/Rangers/Yankees/Bears/Eagles/Red Wings in MLS- yet. But if MLS waits another 10-12 years, the situation with soccer will be the same as it is for other ATL sports. Putting a team there now or within the next 4-5 years will assure that the team will be supported by Atlanta's soccer fans no matter where they came from originally.
If there are any questions about attendance, look at the Beat's attendance compared to that of other WUSA teams. If the Beat drew favorably, so will an MLS team.
And whoever recommended promoting the 'Backs to MLS has a very good idea, if that can be done.
Anywhere in NC.
