Me and Max are hoping to host a decent pre-game tail gate. We are going to throw in our own money to do this, so we need to get a good idea of the crowd we are going to be dealing with so we know how to divide up the money (IE: Alcohol is priority 1, so if we have a substantial amount of people, we will put most of our money to that). With it all going down in the morning, we are thinking of Kegs-N-Eggs and having some breakfast before the big game, but nothing is set in stone. So please select an option so we can better plan, and if you want to contribute a few bucks, post your pledge (although I do not expect anybody to do this).
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? 2 here. If we go, we're there with or without the Dynamo.
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? I'm totally there...when our boys go through. The only reason I say that is because I'm dependent on a ride, which is dependent on the playoff brackets.
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? i'll be there either way...already bought the plane tix and cup tix!!!
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? You folks are welcome at our tailgate on Sunday (we do all of the shopping, hauling and cooking so all you have to do is show up). http://screaming-eagles.com/?page_id=617 We served over 500 people for our Beckham game tgate so we're experienced in serving a big crowd (we easily blew through 8 kegs that day). But if you want to do your own set up, we understand. If you need help finding stores to get supplies just shoot me an email at kim@screaming-eagles.com and tell me where you're staying and we can go from there. K
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? Thanks for the invite. I suppose it depends on if were playing you or not. It would be a little weird hangin with the apponents.
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? We cannot dine with our opponents!! I suppose if you guys don't make the final that will be a possibility
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? Probably not. Plane tickets just ain't cheap these days. Never say never though....
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? I am still waiting foor Dre to get back to us about our supporter section.

Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? Everyone that wants to drink and celebrate is welcome to crash at my place. It will be cool by then, so the house will not be 100 degrees in the shade.

Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? No, actually it's not weird at all. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? So, I'm pretending that it's already Saturday Nov. 10 and I'm getting home after Dynamo played the last home game at Robertson and won the Western Championship against Kansas City. That means I only have 5 days to make my travel arrangements to DC. (I'm checking for flights for 11/2 - 11/4) I'm on the computer searching and the same Continental itinerary is $902. There is a more affordable flight for $592, but the return flight increases to $902. American Airlines makes a stop at dallASS, wait! MLS Cup is in DC not in Frisco this year Delta Airlines has no P.M. returns to Houston. United Airlines has the outrageous cost of $942 for a trip of 8 hours either connecting in Denver or Chicago. Airtran (Hobby Airport) has a roundtrip for $438, but with a layover in Atlanta for 2 hours on the return flight. I'll be arriving home by midnight. Jetblue no P.M. returns to Houston. Southwest no P.M. returns. And the best deal is by US Airways: For $523 w/tax 6:30 AM 02 Nov 2007 Houston, TX (IAH) 10:55 AM 02 Nov 2007 Philadelphia, PA Flight: 3296 Travel Time: 3 h 25 m 12:00 PM 02 Nov 2007 Philadelphia, PA 1:04 PM 02 Nov 2007 Washington, DC (Reagan) Flight: 3605 Travel Time: 1 h 4 m Return 5:30 PM 04 Nov 2007 Washington, DC (Reagan) 6:55 PM 04 Nov 2007 Charlotte, NC Flight: 44 Travel Time: 1 h 25 m 8:00 PM 04 Nov 2007 Charlotte, NC 9:56 PM 04 Nov 2007 Houston, TX (IAH) Flight: 1767 Travel Time: 2 h 56 m They also have a flight departing DC at 7:30 P.M. and arriving in Houston like around midnight. I checked all those online travel agencies and they do not offer a better deal on flights. Back to reality: All I have to do is just convince my wife 'Cause I know Dynamo will re-peat!!!
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? For those who are looking for airfare I would suggest not searching for Reagan and Dulles airports only, but for Baltimore (BWI) as well. They have the AMTRAK at the airport which will take you to Union Station in Washington, or you can take a bus to the closest subway station in the DC Metro. Also, if you've used the 'name your own price' feature from priceline.com you can get an extremely good deal. My 3-Star in Crystal City (Reagan Airport) is $60 a night. I will be there no matter the teams playing, and if Houston is by some miracle winning in the 2nd half, I will say "F-ck it" and go take pictures of the White House.
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? lol, funny post ... you better get your camera ready ....
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? I am hoping to go...I just need to an entourage of people (1 or 2 Dynamo fan's) to fly along with. I do not fly ALONE! (I did it before going to Chicago- It sucks!) Also I need to be back in Houston on that Monday before 6:00pm (BIG BIG Exam that Night). If someone is willing to get this pieced together PM (the flight, the lodging, MLS Ticket-where to sit, the Bars)! We can get these details arranged! or email me... superdynamo06@yahoo.com!
Re: Who is planning on going to DC for the Cup? A group of 9 of us are going (this includes crazykraca above) and we will wanna meet up!
