Every year Garber likes to make a number of announcements related to the League during the MLS Cup Weekend. Any ideas on what will be presented this year?

He'll announce that he saved a bunch of money on his car insurance by switching to GEICO.

The Adidas deal. (It hasn't been officially announced yet, right?)

The divisional alignment and schedule format for next year.

The alligment and schedule is geek stuff. They won't waste valuable time to announce that, that'll just get mentioned when they publsih next year's schedule.

Now the adidas deal is a different story. If that hasn't been announced officially (and for the life of me I can't remember if it has) then that's the kind of thing you yell at anyone within earshot. Outside of that, anything else would be a surprise, like 2007 expansion to Seattle and Rochester, or something like that.

I agree that the Adidas deal will take center stage, as it should. It hasn't been anounced yet. They might even do something like show some new Adidas kits, but I doubt there will be much beyond this. Unless SLC or Chivas is getting some huge new allocation.

From this day on, the official language of San Marcos will be Swedish. Silence! In addition to that, all citizens will be required to change their underwear every half-hour. Underwear will be worn on the outside so we can check. Furthermore, all children under 16 years old are now... 16 years old!

I'd hardly be a proper BigSoccer poster if I hadn't suggested it once. :D

I wouldn't say alignment is strictly geek stuff.

To FC Dallas and KC Wiz fans, it's a pretty big deal which of us is shipped off to the Eastern Conference.

I highly doubt we'll hear anything about expansion that's not Chivas USA and Real Salt Lake.

Adidas will take center stange probably. Might slip in something about TV contracts or something for next year.

Good point, the Adidas deal, is a certain, and maybe the SJ ordeal, i.e. that they will stay in SJ for one more yr. Hopefully something along the lines of, ESPN giving MLS some more games, to be telecasted.
I doubt anything else, he says will be interesting.

Some indication of more expansion in 06 (Club America, UNAM, others, maybe Seattle, maybe Houston or San Antonio)
    TV and attendance gains
More corporate sponsorship deals, more corporate money in
