I was going to say that sure as shootin', if the game went past 6pm ET and ABC didn't stay with it, some bright boy would say, "This just shows what little regard ABC has for soccer", but it's much, much worse than I imagined.

Look, folks, MLS purchased the time from 3:30pm ET until 6:00pm ET. After that, you're out of luck. You might get them to stay past 6 now since they're making an effort to get some semblance of a game in (even a shortened one), but if they stayed with it all night, ABC affiliates, which have very lucrative newscasts, would scream bloody murder.

And, yes, their outrage does outweigh yours. Money talks.

It's a freaking exhibition game, folks. You do what you can with the hand you're dealt. If MLS plays a 60-minute All-Star Game and you come on here and bitch, you're going to come off sounding like the freaking whiny baseball fans who claimed they didn't get their money's worth from their All-Star Game.

Yes, it sucks. No, there was nothing realistic they could have done about it. When you're in charge, you can make the decisions.

That was the funniest half time show ever...

The DJ who thinks this is a rave...

Paulina looking Janet Jackson circa 1989 (but much hotter)...

Finally, MLS getting half of my idea of hot chicks in MLS jerseys in place (unfortunately the wrong half)...

And Dante Washington on the drums!!!

It would have been even better if that giant Pepsi bottle caught on fire when that firework malfunctioned

Paulina Rubio is trailer trash. She's not even that hot looking.

What other choice do you have? Cancel the game?

Last I checked, you couldn't do free substitution in a soccer game, either. But that's been the norm for seven years.

The chicks in the soccer jerseys in Paulina's crew made some interesting use of kits, I must say.

Just announced they're going to try to play a 45-minute second half. So there.

The game is going to switch to ESPN at 6pm.

Someone will bitch that they set their VCR and won't have the whole game on tape now.

    A wet Veronica Paysee. There's your money's worth. ;)

All she needs is a big hat with fruit all over it, and she'd be Carmen Miranda.

moving to ESPN at 6. that's the benefit of being part of a media empire. at least we get to see the end of the game, after the 6pm time buy ends. bonus irony - it's cutting into sportscenter. take that, rich eisen, you failed stand up comic moron.

How clueless is Jack? He just said Etcheverry had a wonderful 1994 World Cup in the US.

Funny, when I watched it, he got a red card 10 minutes after entering the game against Germany in the opener and never played another minute.

Yeah, but those were a wonderful 10 minutes. ;)

This is actually a better game than most All-Star Games, which routinely degenerate into farces. Some nice play despite everything that's happened.

It's nice someone else has recognised that. This game is interesting and provides a good case for the format change on a permanent basis.

Actually, let's have MLS v US every year. Why not?

Something tells me that if "Do you tackle your teammate from behind in an All-Star Game?" is on the test they give you for citizenship, Dema Kovalenko is never going to be naturalized.

I for one would get tired in a hurry of Mike Burns and Chad Deering vs. MLS as the annual event.

Veronica: "Here's Landon Donovan and he's nice and sweaty."

I think they've given up all pretense of her being anything but furniture, haven't they?

Veronica should interview Dema. That would be too many idiots on one television for me to handle.
