At this point, I'd don't think a senior team call up is just a recruiting tool.

Diego Luna has yet to turn 21 and has, even if you don't do all the MLS assist thing, 13 goal contributions in 1,400 minutes as one of the primary focal points of the RSL offense.

Why AREN'T we calling that up? I get not for Copa, as (a) a lot of the production is recent and (b) it's arguable around guys like Brenden or Haji or Tillman ... but surely that's close enough to get a look in a friendly, no?

There's a balance between talent and production, but our rosters have been very talent and less on production.

He should squarely be in the mix along with guys like Tillman, Aaronson and LDLT.

Dude can't even make our Olympic squad. That is how deep we are. How do we do sarcasm tags again?

I believe our floor has risen & our ceiling is now higher, but we are nowhere deep like a France.

As our bottom floor rose, more serviceable depth has emerged.

So, what if i were to say, the decision by a committee (to cut costs), to trim a roster from 23 or 21 to 18, is causing unnecessary global effects/over-reactions for national soccer team programs.

On the flip-side, is it helping to bring to light faster, the tricksters who were just going to use a tournament for personal means & then switch elsewhere anyway?

    In regards to Luna,

Luna has gotten called-up to USMNT friendly & impressed (as recent as 2024). He should be prioritized for the next window. Zero reason Luna should not be getting more caps this year.

Until Bild calls them the worst club in the world, the title of worst MLS team ever remains with the '99 Metros.

I also forgot about the existence of Chivas USA.........they will always have the crown. I dunno, with some hard work and dedication we can be equally worthless.

He has added more to his game, he’s better at holdup (as you see here) and has started to score with his head.

he ws acutally the 9 Gregg missed at WC altho he wasn't in shape - the whole weight thing. I remember posting that Gregg should get after Morris to stay in shape at the end of MLS season going into WC and was disappointed he showed up overweight anyway. The thing about morris is that he can shake even high level cb's physically. Balo snaps like a dry twig. Haji just topples. Ferreira got squashed like a bug. Sarge has toughened up some but got pushed around like a shopping cart in BL when he was playing with Fullkrug at Bremen.

I’d take an overweight JMo no problem. Especially given his medical situation which should be abundantly clear it’s not that simple to “just stop weight” as a diabetic.

It’s sort of unfortunate he didn’t get released to play the 9 for the Olympic team.

I've watched MLS since literally the inaugural game in 1996, this isn't even the worst rendition of the San Jose team

What makes you think Jordan was out of shape? I’ve never seen any indication that he doesn’t take care of himself.

Seattle asked for a week before he heads to camp. USSF said no.

I know I’m just saying it’s unfortunate it didn’t work out as I would have preferred him to Mihailovic (along with the others whose release was turned down).

Jordan did seem like he'd lost a step for a good chunk of this season but him playing on the wing with Schmetzer asking our wingers to track back a lot and him being a 9 where he can focus more on making the runs and bully ball has made a large difference (and probably not a coincidence the Sounders have been much better lately)

He was just missing his shots early in the year. He drew a penalty in the first game of the season on a ball he chased down and Long ran him over in the box.

19 y/o Valenzuela has forced his way into more playing time in the attack.
Bassett might be a better a-mid than Mihailovic
Wonder whether FC Dallas would've considered releasing Farrington for the Olympics
Vassilev looks to have found his niche.
Durkins had a strong cameo start at CB.
