Watched a few of the other games on ESPN+ this weekend, including MON @ ORL. Pato finally scores his first for ORL, a year after signing (got injured in first game last year). Sounds like a point of emphasis to the refs this season is giving more yellow cards for tactical fouls. I hope they stick with it. Orlando's Robin Jansson got a red (second yellow) for a tactical foul, cancelling out Romell Quioto's straight red for a punch to the chest. Carlos Vela had 5 goals all last year; had a hat trick yesterday. Dom Dwyer scored for ATL. CLT has some work to do, as does CIN (still).
In that game, Araujo got away with an outrageous foul on Chanot, grabbing him by the neck and throwing him to the ground. In the box, no less. Disciplinary Committee might be inviting him in for tea. In fact, that whole game was marred by excessive fouling.

From the "how to play yourself out of a job in 27 minutes" file: SKC's Jose Mauri (signed last summer from AC Milan) entered Sunday's game in the 50' when Oriol Rosell was injured. In the 77', Vermes yanked him, and then cut him on Monday.
Not clear, but I guess they didn't want to pay $660K to a backup who can't do the job. Some details on SB Nation, but not much.

I'm convinced -- with no solid reason, to be sure -- that he's not going to make a big difference for them.
NYRB took 19 shots, 8 on goal, had a 3.1 xG, but Dayne St Clair put on a show and shut them out in MIN 1-0 win.
Congrats to Pat Noonan on his first win as a head coach (2-1 @ORL). (Ezra Hendrickson and Paulo Nagamura as well). Cincy ends 14-game losing streak, and just their 2nd win since June 26, 2021.
David Gass on MLS Today said the Revs had previously reached out to MIN about the availability of Dayne St Clair as a potential replacement for Turner.

CIN beats MIA 3-1. Ronald Mattarita had a hand in all 4 goals: 1 goal, 2 assists, 1 PK foul committed. After starting the year outscored 10-1, CIN now is above the Revs in the table. MON (with CLT) is the last team to earn a point this season, but blew a 3-1 lead (despite being up a man) to settle for 3-3 draw in ATL.
