I know. I gave up my season tickets as a credit toward next year, I would bet most fans did likewise, but still get offered tickets for every game for purchase.
I wanted to go to HiR but couldn't get tickets so I went to MNUFC over Nashville. I was the only person in my row and can easily make myself out in the "crowd" shots. Most likely I'll go to another couple of games this season plus any playoffs but not every game as I would have before the pandemic.
2004 in Houston 3572 in Dallas No official attendance in San Jose, but plenty of people watching from their cars, and plenty of fans by the stadium gates.
For comparison, USL Championship Indy 6,039 Tulsa 2,320 Colorado Switchbacks 1,000 Rio Grande FC 716 Real Monarchs 3,296
North Carolina 432 Loisville 4,900 in their fancy new stadium Memphis 901 Tampa Bay 403 Tulsa 3,128 Rio Grande 956 Las Vegas 250
Indy Seems to be taking the post pandemic attendance champion title away from Loisville. None of these three leagues are setting overall attendance records in the US, with SEC football now hitting 20k+ on game days. Nascar supposedly had 30k+ for its all star race.
NISA is playing in a MLS is Back style bubble at Keyworth Stadium in the Detroit suburbs. Indy have been allowed to go ahead with their original 6,500 I guess, after it had been reduced to 2,500 following a story in the local media. Louisville's pandemic capacity was 50%, or 7,500, so maybe their fans are playing it safe.
Governor Newsom hasn't approved in person attendance yet. Each league has to provide "detailed plans as to how players and other personnel would be kept safe."
Heading into the fall it makes little sense to allow spectators. There are spikes pretty much everywhere in the midwest now.
Meanwhile California had a temporary uptick in cases due to Labor Day, but now are at the lowest point of hospitalizations of the whole pandemic. It's almost like rational measures work... (but we still have a growing #recallNewsom movement going)
Barber shops are open already, so they need a new reason to kill each other. I think it's currently gyms.
In past years going way back to 1998, this thread and other similar threads were one of my first stops on BS. Given what's going on it makes no sense that we even have this thread. I just took a look for I think the first time this year to see what people were even saying.
