FWIW, the XFL regular season was canceled (all of the press releases say regular season although there is no reason to believe there would be a post-season). A player on Seattle's team was later confirmed to have had the virus.
I think we've discovered that even the universe didn't want Miami to have another team... Do we really believe that it was just a coincidence that the league was suspended the day before Miami was to have their first home game??
Mark Cuban thinks the NBA will resume their season at end of May. But they might be playing in locked arenas.
I don't know what he is smoking. An NBA game with its rosters, coaches, cameramen, and TV crews are far too many people to be allowed into an arena. As for the virus itself, it now seems entirely unstoppable, so it will be getting worse and worse indefinitely. There will be no sports in our future... for years.
Remember when MLS got delayed and we were talking about possible season resumption? And now we'll be lucky to have a 2022 season, let alone 2021...
Its panic therapy. Once I get all panicked out I sometimes relax. But this post wasn't panic. I just miss soccer, and can't imagine a return any time soon.
https://www.theatlantic.com/family/...g-over-back-to-normal/608752/?utm_source=digg I don't see any scenarios that include anything resembling sports as we know them.
I wonder how WWE and AEW are managing to keep producing shows... I am guessing wrestlers aren't immune to viruses so... do they just keep every single person involving in the production including the talent in strict quarantine or something?
I havent figured that out. But AEW has been fantastic with the empty arena shows. WWE ........ not so much.
Week one AEW got it right. Last night was atrocious, almost as bad as Raw or Smackdown, while NXT was excellent.
Sounds like the wrestling promotions are being more reckless than usual with the health of their talent.
I think they just want to keep going until Wrestlemania, and then they might taper it down. Though I dont know what AEW is doing.
