This was posted in another thread, but figured it probably deserved its own as well. We're only taking submissions until the end of the day Friday (1/21). So get them in. Submissions are open to members only, but membership is also open for 2011 so there's no reason not to enter. http://www.midnightriders.com/scarf_contest.html
While on the subject of scarves, I was wondering around the riders website the other day and saw the 2009 and 2010 scarves still on sale. Are those still in stock?
They are indeed in stock. About a dozen of both designs left. Go ahead and order online and I'll get it out to you.
I really liked last year's white scarf. To get a sense of it's popularity could you list every scarf ever produced along with how many of each were made/sold. I'd like this by Tuesday please.
Don't forget that special Taylor Twellman commemorative scarves will be available and for sale at the Midnight Riders general meeting in February with all proceeds going to charity.
I hope that whatever design gets selected can be modified slightly to honour Chris Allen. Maybe a tri-corner with the initials C.A.
Submitted for the board and others approval. I like the understated approach and the thought of Chris riding off to champion the cause. Hope this works for folks ... [right mouse click, view image]
The only thing I'd offer is that to those of us who knew him, he was pretty much synonymous with the tricorner hat since day 1. Is there a way we could get a tricorn outline or background under his initials? I just thinking that would be a perfect, and fitting, tribute.
Maybe replace the three blue stars on the red/blue bar side at the ends? We cut put in a simple tri-corn with Chris's initials in it
Collaboration. I like collaboration. Here's an attempt which integrates into the original design without eliminating elements ... Thoughts? oh and the S is for Stevens.
I'm really liking these collaborative efforts! (Where were these back in 95?) Personally, Alan's tweak does it for me. Anyone else?
I absolutely love this one. Been keeping my eyes open for a good Revs scarf and if I see this one available, it will be the one I get. I've tried designing scarves for the Revs before and its not as easy as one would think. Very well done sir.
