Michael Grant, Who Wrote Histories of the Ancient World, Is Dead at 89

One of my favorite authors, sorry to hear of his passing. Always an easy, enjoyable read of the Ancient World. I cut my teeth on Ancient Roman history with his works.

 

Easily the most accessible Roman historian of the past 50 years. Although, of course, his work was rather broad in scope. Gives a very good overview of the periods, although I've always preferred other people.
