There's maybe 4 Stadiums in Mexico that could do it. 5 if Monterrey speed their new one up. Mexico has hosted it 2x when the infrastructure was even worse so who knows. None the less obviously the US would get it 1st.
I think so. South Africa had similar issues going on and they pulled it off... although you did read that the organization was real crap, but they got it done without a major ******** up. Looks like Brazil is going to be expensive as hell and not very well organized, but they will get it done
27 years ago was the last one. Standards have changed. Stadiums are not the only thing. You also have to build roads, hotels, improve public transit, and provide excellent security. Oh and there's that little drug war problem which has given the country a really bad image worldwide.
Requirements were different.. you know this Rony c'mon. I don't even think Azteca meets the requirements anymore.
Its more about the revolution that just popped up out of now where, along with the apparent falling behind schedule on stadiums and infrastructure.
What revolution? This is all started because buss/train ticket prices were being hiked in Brazil and people got pissed. cops started shooting protesters with rubber bullets and that lead to bigger demonstrations. Then the cost of stadiums got tied in too. The world cup will be fine But what do you guys expect when you hold events in developing countries? (no trying to sound like a dick srs) The same shit would happen in Mexico. Clearly the only solution is to hold the world cup in Houston every 4yrs
The only stadium in Mexico that meets WC requirements is el Vergaradom, the rest are either too old or too small. Minimum capacity for a WC stadium is 40k.
You guys don't know what your talking about. This document is pretty short and straight forward about what it takes to host the WC 2014. Take about 15 mins to read it and know, don't assume, that Mexico can pull it off - http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/tournament/competition/01/47/38/17/regulationsfwcbrazil2014_en.pdf This one about the stadium requirement is a little but longer so just control+F it. Clearly a couple of Mexican stadiums meets the regulation. - http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/tournament/competition/01/37/17/76/stadiumbook2010_buch.pdf And roads, hotels, public transit.....really. SMH. How old are you pochos and haven't y'alls daddies ever taken yall to Mexico? Last year alone Mexico welcomed over 20 million tourist - http://www.aztecanoticias.com.mx/notas/tour/140636/23-millones-de-turistas-visitaron-mexico-en-2012 The only thing that would be an issue would be security though as per UN Mexico has 22 murders per 100,000 compared to Brasil's 20 per 100, 000 in 2012
lol calm down. Mexico is not ready for another World Cup. I know that. You know that. Hell, even the brazilians will tell you that their world cup is going to suck as fars organization and stuff
I read that document before.....you need more than a couple of stadiums to host it.....please rony, we are talking about hosting it in case Brazil can't....no mames.... Again no mames. These are tourists to beach destinations (mostly) over one year period. Yeah, that is the same.
Gustavo Mendoza going crazy with his stupidity in La Ultima Palabra. Saying that the US is better than Mexico because they went farther in the South AFrica, Germany and Japan/Korea. That a professional newscaster says that the US went farther in Germany is pathetic. He should go back to Futbol para Todos. People diss on Sequeyro but I think he's been doing well and is the only guy I've heard in the media who unquestionably wants Chepo out (that's insane).
Neta que FoxSportsMexico agarra a cualquier pendejo de la calle para narrar / presentar sus programas de mierda. That guy is a terrible play-by-play guy.
Is it just me or are the spazzos making way too much about a juiced up transgender in a largely amateur sport? (Wait I think I just described 50% of their olympic program)
