Morocco's historic World Cup run isn't a coincidence. Back in 2007, King of Morocco, Mohammed VI spent £12million to reshape national football. This was used to produce the next generation of Moroccan footballers amidst worries of poor facilities & other issues. This is bloody nonsense. Of this team that made this run 8 are produced by Belgium and the Netherlands and 7 by Germany and France born and raised players, of which the superstars are part. This Moroccan team is riding on the wave of the excellent development systems of these countries. They themselves have little contributed to it's success. To claim this success as their own is some of the best appropriation acts ever. What a bunch of liars.
Seems a bit dramatic, their coach has nothing to do with Belgium and Netherlands who, with all their euro produced talent, played like garbage this World Cup
FIFPRO is shocked and sickened by reports that professional footballer Amir Nasr-Azadani faces execution in Iran after campaigning for women’s rights and basic freedom in his country. We stand in solidarity with Amir and call for the immediate removal of his punishment. pic.twitter.com/vPuylCS2ph— FIFPRO (@FIFPRO) December 12, 2022
Apparently Chivas is trying to get rid of Canelo Angulo. One of the rumored reasons: his influencer status is distracting him from his day job.

Thank goodness. That means no more MLS live look-ins nobody asked for during Liga MX games. There’s a paywall on the article, but i’m pretty sure they didn’t bail on it because it was profitable.
Mexican fans are (here in BS) mocking the nads for their mercenaries and quest to enlist dual nationals in their team. When you look at the Moroccan selection that's nad like, but then on steroids. Anyway, to play like garbage and getting into the last 8 and taking Argentina to penalty kicks for a last 4 spot...what makes that the other teams not getting to that point? The point however is people boasting about "their players", while these havenot been born there, havenot been developed there and only are Moroccans because they can't get rid of that nationality. They are as much Moroccans as Dest is a yank.
I’m not so sure about that feye. A few of these players moms seem to held on to their culture much more than these other mercenaries.
There is a clear difference, Morocco has a definite culture, these guys were brought up in that culture from their home, no matter their birthplace. The US doesn’t have a culture that can be taken anywhere, either you live and grow up in the US or you don’t. What culture does the US have? What cultural practices does it have that have been carried for generations? (Keep in mind the US is relatively young as a “civilization” compared to any around the world). That’s why it’s funny for Germans born in Germany to claim “American” when there is no culture to claim. Unless capitalism and consumerism is a culture.
Nope. These "Moroccans", when on holiday in Morocco, feel treated like strangers. They're, unlike the anti Islam mongers claim, fully integrated into Dutch culture and have little Moroccan culture poured into them, unlike the Turkish part of West- European countries. You're correct that Morocco has a long existing culture, but it's not true it's a dominating part of the background of the Moroccans born in the Netherlands or Belgium.
Are you a first generation son of an immigrant? If not, I don’t think you’d understand what l’m trying to say. Most of us here I feel can relate to this Morocco team and given the opportunity would make the same decision of choosing our parents national team over our birth national team.
That's a pretty big generalization... I'm sure this is true for some but we can't sit here and say this is true for all of them...
Of course it's not true for all of them, but the government about a decade ago had a research done about the level of integration of various ethnic groups in the Netherlands and the Moroccans came on top of it. It's part of their frustration large numbers of Dutch have a negative view on them, despite that fact.
Messi is the 6th player with a goal in the round of last 16, last 8 and last 4, among whom Wesley Sneijder in 2010. None of them won the title.
I usually enjoy your insights but to be honest this tirade sounds so Eurocentric and fundamentalist in a weird way, very bitter. Firstly I don’t care about naturalized players playing for anyone, this world is a rapidly changing place and I watch the World Cup more so for tradition not some archaic unwavering belief in territory lines. If you want to play some game regarding genealogy of players then the same could be done for the Dutch, we could perhaps erase a large potion of recent history and success if we attribute it to Suriname. The same could be done for the French. No one cares anymore, but you sound very bitter to attempt to take away what belongs to Morocco, not your conference league level Dutch league. Football is crazy, they did go into penalties but it seemed more so Argentina taking it lightly than a bitter close war. They were played off the pitch for 60 minutes and furthermore were lucky to not have lost vs Ecuador as well. Perhaps you are proud of how they played but from what I saw most everyone was very underwhelmed with their performance
