We are running the 433 standard like we normally do. Torres on the left, Herc in the middle and Lando on the right
JK is really asking for it by starting Castillo. Fabian Johnson should be at LB and Brek, Corona or Beasley should be on the left wing. No Castillo, he sucks.
Common misconception. About as much of one as our "superior athleticism" over teams which we are actually inferior to athletically. It just SOUNDS good, but it isn't reality. They have great team speed.
It is frightening to think that Jurgen's thought process could be, "Well, since these guys play in Mexico, they will play well since we are playing in Mexico." That is so amateurish if it is the case, imo. Castillo's inclusion is inexplicable...having said that, GO USA!
I know, I was asking Juergen/the soccer gods. Anyway, US Soccer twitter has us in a 4-4-2 with all 4 midfielders being CMs. Castillo and FJ the fullbacks. #USMNT lineup for #USAvMEX: Howard (c); Johnson, Cameron, Edu, Castillo; Jones, Beckerman, Williams, Torres; Donovan, Gomez
I don't see how Beckerman is going to be able to compete in the midfield today. I really hope he proves me wrong.
U.S. SOCCER @ussoccer Looks like #USMNT will be starting the game with a 4-3-1-2...From midfield: Williams, Beckerman, Jones; Torres; Donovan, Gomez
i knew that, didn't know if castillo also could play with his right foot, since we seemed to have consistently had fabian johnson at LB as of late (though klinsmann tends to like moving people around)
Barrera has been out of form lately, so Catillo might have caught a break. But if Barrera is on his game tonight, watch out
anyone else not getting ESPN2 feed, can switch to Univision. Sad but true, ESPN is not the leader in sports ...
Yeah, Mexicans probably laugh at us for having Orozco Fiscal and Castillo. Torres is a little more respectable. We're bunkering down for sure. Just look at the lineup.
The play by play thread is here, folks.: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...-8-15-12-7-40-et.1972890/page-2#post-26272637
Not being sarcastic. I haven't followed this thread super-closely, but I've read probably 10 articles and blog posts about the roster and listened to multiple MLS/US Soccer podcasts and didn't hear anything about that factor.
hate to say I told you so, the only reason there is a decent turnout is because of the olympic medalist presentation.
