Lets see how many texas based people we got on this board... a couple at least. Anybody else able to make it to the Alamodome for this one? Oh yeah, Any personalized messages ya'll want me to relay to Lavolpe?
Si es cierto se la va a jugar con los Juveniles Y no tienen de que quejarse ya que haran mas plata de lo que puedan ganar jugando contera cualquier otro equipo, llamese Brazil.. Chapines mal agradecidos debarian de darnos las gracias..
Mexico B? Los juveniles? It's been a B squad ever since Lavolpe took over to which other non-tri fans proclaim it as our A team. I don't see how this group is much different from the "real" Lavolpe Tri. No Oswaldo and Borguetti, or surprise package like Palencia. So what, I still see the backline from hell and Danielinho "El Fenomeno" Osorno.
Mexico coach La Volpe again threatens to resign: http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-mexico&prov=reuters&type=lgns

this is the expected lineup for tonite: Muñoz; Altamirano, Rodríguez, Galindo, Pineda y Pérez; Chato y García; Olalde, Fonseca y Santana there's a chance that Alberto Medina and Daniel Osorno might start also in which they will replace Olalde and Santana.
I'm in San Antonio and thinking about walking up and buying tickets for this one. I really can't stand that shiny fake pitch in the dome, but at least we're getting some futbol here. Does anyone have a link with the full rosters (for each team)? As for LaVolpe, he should quit now, and on his own terms, because I give him about a 1 in 10 chance of making it through the Hex without getting fired. It's only going to take one sub-par performance at Azteca, and he'll be booed out of the stadium quicker than Dick Cheney at a K.D. Lang concert. Or (for my Mexican friends): he'll be booed out of the stadium quicker than Cuauhtemoc Blanco at a Stop Violence Now rally.
Looks like yes. I checked a Guatemalteco futbol website. Here is the full list for any who's curious. Looks like a faily full Guate "A" team. ARQUEROS: Miguel Klee (Coban), Ricardo Trigueño (Deportivo Suchitepequez) DEFENSAS: Pablo Melgar (Municipal), Gustavo Cabrera (Comunicaciones), Nelson Morales (Coban), Eddie Cabrera (Coban), Victor Hernandez (Comunicaciones) MEDIOCAMPISTAS: Guillermo Ramirez (Municipal), Mario Rodriguez (Municipal), Carlos Castillo (Xelaju), Jose Zacarias Antonio (Marquense), Angel Sanabria (Marquense), Gonzalo Romero (Municipal), Fredy Thompson (Comunicaciones), Hetzon Pereira (Coban) DELANTEROS: Dwight Pezzarossi (Comunicaciones), Carlos Ruiz (LA Galaxy), Juan Carlos Plata (Municipal), Walter Estrada (Coban), Mario Navas (Antigua GFC)
For those who asked, here is Mexico's list. Not sure if JC Medina from Atlas made it or not, I read that the other day when they left, he had forgot his passport, so couldn't go with the team. He had hoped to meet up with the team this Morning I think, not sure if it happened. Porteros Moisés Alberto Muñoz Francisco Guillermo Ochoa Defensas Aarón Galindo Francisco Javier Rodríguez Hugo Sánchez Mario Méndez Héctor Altamirano Octavio Valdez Mediocampistas Mario Pérez Juan Pablo Rodríguez Gonzalo Pineda Juan Carlos Medina José Rafael García Delanteros José Francisco Fonseca Daniel Osorno Sergio Alejandro Santana Alberto Medina Jesús Javier Olalde
Thanks for the info on the rosters. Looks like a good game. It'll be a good test for Guatemala to see if they can hang with Mexico "at" Mexico.
Huh? He's had more than a couple of goals. He led MLS in goals his first two years and scored the goal to win MLS Cup for the Galaxy. He's also scored a lot of goals for Guatemala (I know because he scored one against the US in qualifying in 2000 ), INCLUDING the only goal for Guatemala when they beat Honduras 1-0 to make it to next year's final round.
