obviously the name will change, it will be equally as ridiculous with the word NISSAN in the middle, maybe with out money they wont need the sponsor anymore?? doubtful... Copa Nissan Latinoamericana, Copa Nissan Iberoamericana, Copa Nissan Americana??? suenan bien no??

ahora, para agregarle un poco de interes al foro tengo un comentario mas, y por razones predicibles, lo pondre en ingles.

MLS clubs to the sudamericana (pending a name change)??? they are not at the Liertadores level yet, but maybe they could do well against this kind of competition?? just wondering what people think about that, would the MLS sides be interested even with their ridiculous calendar and stuff?

Well, Copa Sudamericana is just a name and the Mexican teams would play as invitees (as in Copa Libertadores). So, no problem in placing them in the competition and no need to change the competition name.

As for MLS teams in Copa Libertadores it would be interesting too in my opinion.

    this sucks.

I already said this in another topic, but let's repeat it, if mexicans want to participate in a tournament which they don't belong, at least earn your place to confederacions cup or to world clup cup, winning copa america or libertadores.

I don't think that is fair that mexico competes in a tournament which is 100% south american.

I wonder why South americans are not interested in participate in any concacaf's torunament, few days ago i read in concacaf.com that they are still looking for any guess for gold cup, they have called to 7 south american federations to invite them to play gold cup, but all these 7 federations said , NO THANKS

Cause we see Concacaf as being inferiour to Conmebol, when Brasil does compete for example in the last Gold Cup, notice how the team wasent even a b-team..it was mostly used to test young players like Robinho and Diego in international competition.

I would love it if Brasil competed again this year though.

Well i got nothing but luv for Mexico but they need to wake up alittle insted of the mentality of only Brasil and Argentina are better, they have a poor record vs Paraguay, and even record vs Colombia, a pretty even record vs Uruguay, and recently havent been doing so well vs Peru.

Not only that but if you compere then entire Conmebol with Concacaf you'l see a big gap, a poor team in Conmebol like lets say Bolivia would do well in the Concacaf qualifiers.

the limited national team of Bolivia has NEVER lost with mexico in copa america

    copa america 1993, Bolivia 0 mejico 0
    copa america 1997, Bolivia 3 mejico 1

i wonder how exist mexican dreamers who think that their national team is superior to all south america except brasil and argentine, i remeber about 1 year ago, when peru and mejico played a friendly game in the usa, mexico just 1 week ago had won copa america and with those same players faced to peru, the score final, peru 3 mejico 1.

why mexico has never won the copa america? when all south americans participate with substitutes and very young and inexperienced players

Can u imagine if mexico would have to win copa america for participating in confederations cup? can u imagine if mexico would have to beat south american nationals teams to qualify to world cup?

true to some degree. but surely they take the confederations more seriously than copa america. i think that for the most part copa america is taken somewhat seriously. you can't deny there was great talent at the last one

I dont think they take the confederations cup more seriously than copa america, because de south american teams want to win it and have that honour from the cup who have played for a long time now.. in case the best player dont come and play the cup like ronaldo, salas, crespo, veron etc etc.. is this a big oportunity to the teams from copa amercia to se how the young and talent player plays
