http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,581053,00.html Certainly good news. What I also find interesting is that there is no mention of this at all on the front page of CNN's main website (their mobile site had an article halfway down the page that did not even mention that al Awlaki is likely among the dead).
Maybe it's because the report of his demise is unconfirmed, and that more responsible media outlets don't want to feature it too prominently until and unless it is confirmed. See "Mission Accomplished."
HAHAHAHAHA, yeah, because cable news outlets are known for holding off on a story until it's 100% confirmed even if it means losing a scoop to a competitor. Anyway, they could've just done what Fox did and included words like "believed to be", "likely", etc.
I don't think "really bad guy might be dead!" is much of a headline. I think that's probably why they didn't go with it? Why do you think CNN didn't put the story at the top? Do you think CNN is pro al-qaeda and pro american soldiers turning on their fellow soldiers?
If this gives you some satisfaction that the guy is dead, then feel free to celebrate: The raid in Yemen's east targeted an Al Qaeda leadership meeting held to organize terror attacks. U.S. officials believe radical cleric Anwar Awlaki was "probably" one of dozens of militants killed in the strike, a source confirmed to FOX News. "Awlaki is suspected to be dead [in the air raid]," Reuters quoted an unnamed Yemeni official as saying. And p.s., Fox news might have a better source than CNN, so they can't confirm the unnamed Yemeni official quoted in the Reuters story.
Yemen is beginning to become a bit of a problem. I'm concerned about how this is going to play out on the peninsula.
I wonder if his death will be confirmed in the next 72 hours. Can't say I'm heartbroken if he did croak.
I thought this thread was meant to wish everybody a merry Christmas. I guess not, but Merry Christmas anyway. And Happy Holidays to everybody. Cheers!
You tell me. Why is this being buried by the media? For that matter, why has the Fort Hood shooting itself been almost completely buried by the media other than in its immediate aftermath??
i told you why, because I think that the mere possibility of this guy being dead is not enough to make it an interesting headline. Do you agree or disagree? Why are you afraid to say why you think CNN didn't feature it prominently?
