I can only hope that Camara can step it up once he learns the ropes a bit. Or Bove. Otherwise it's going to be very difficult going forward this season. I think another reason other than the midfield is the wingbacks. This formation that we're playing relies on them a lot for the attack, but Karsdorp and Spinazzola have been shocking since the start of the season. Celik seems solid, but I'm not sure yet about his technique or attacking prowess. So it turns out Zalewski might be our best option there, which is not enough. Other than having only 4 CBs to cover 3 positions and the midfield problem, perhaps this is yet another reason to scrap this setup for now.
Yeah, it's a good point that our current tactics depend so heavily on the wingbacks creating since we concede a midfield disadvantage to keep an extra body behind the ball. Celik seems like a good player but not one you want to have to run much of your attack through. In theory, the back 3 shouldn't be such a problem if the tactics allow forany of the CBs or 2 Mids to support the attackers. I agree though that, at this point, I'm all for addressing the midfield numbers disadvantage by simply adding a midfielder.
