Not liking this formation change so far. Hopefully isn’t the beginning of a lot of tinkering, which usually is a mistake a lot of new managers make.
Strong Defending by Mancini right there. Real solid. This is the best version of him that I've ever seen.
More a case of rotation (namely giving Smalling a start) than tinkering. Feel like Svilar is trying hard to go from hero to zero here. Our attempts at playing out from back is not working and heart in mouth stuff. Need to figure out how we're going to go the more direct route.
Just looked like it at first because Svilar was fast and is ********ing tall so it was close. Not his fault imo, Mancini should've been closer to Zapata.
I can understand the reasons for the switch/line-up this time. However on the strength of that 1st half effort I would expect a switch to a back 4 second half. Need to pick it up big time out there.....
