It was a great win and a good lineup.

They finally looked convincing and determined.

It's our best offensive lineup right now as far as the defenders go. And frankly we don't have enough consistent scoring up front without those threats at the back. But obviously Mancini is going to have to play a lot better than he has since the new year to support Smalling.

Good win at last. Obviously we needed that....but it was Lecce. Lets hope Diawara returns soon, Milhouse fcuks off and we go on a positive run for awhile.

I’m happy Peres is good enough to play against a team that’s in 16th place. That’s at least an upgrade over Santon. He’ll be a great player to have next season when we’re in Europa League.

Go and ask Vulpunous's mother like the good forum clown you are.

I taught her and yours things about goal differences last night, among other things.

    @LordNelson

We just hit Lecce's boat with full ramming speed, my lord.

I’d like to see Mkhi moved into the 10 spot and see what he can do. The midfield has been a black hole with Pellegrini running the show

Looks like it's going to take you some more time to see what's up with Peres. It was always his attitude and never a question of his ability. The time spent in the wilderness seems to have corrected that. He is hungry again. Period.

I’m fine with Peres. In a back 5 I would even say he’s a pretty good. But I want to see us actually invest in a proper full back for once instead of relying on the same ones that have failed us time and time again, which includes Peres.

Old man Maicon has been the only reliable one we’ve managed to find in the last decade

Peres looks like a top player because we were stuck with Santon and Florenzi for a while, lol.

It doesn't matter about failing previously, it matters about what is happening right now. His attitude has been great on the pitch every moment he has played since returning. Thats what we focus on.
Peres failed previously because he didn't seem to care. I remember well Spalletti shouting at him and pointing up the touchline to where he should have been during the play and he would just jog as he pleased.
He will get his shot to the end of the season and if he keeps this up he can lock down a place leaving us with other more pressing issues to worry about.

Santon has his uses when a more defensive approach is needed and can do a good job as seen in the derby when a different tactical approach is needed. Something Peres cant offer is to play a half centre back and told to sit. Florenzi can fulfill neither of those roles better than the other two.

Our biggest issues will be right through the central core of the team from centre back, cm, am and cf.

A positive performance that I hope we can build on in the remaining games before the next int'l break.

The negatives were that we still make too many mistakes with simple passes and concede too much space inside our own hal when the opposition have possession. We need to move quicker to close angles and passing options.

Mancini's yellow card means he is suspended for next week's game in Cagliari wgich is a shame because he and Smalling started to look like their old selves, playing well together.

I am still not sold on Perez, Under showed he is a considerably more talented player in this game.

Completely disagree. Besides his goal Under was garbage as usual. Perez had an assist and generally linked up much better. He is still raw but you can tell he has way more football IQ than Under.

Indeed, but if the competition is bad enough; anyone can look good.

Cristante and Pellegrini should still never wear a Roma shirt again.

Perez scored the exact same goal
The Chelsea fan was not impressed.

Under scored the exact same goal and was pretty much invisible until being subbed. The Chelsea fan was impressed and believes this match is evidence of clearly a more talented individual.

This boys troll game is weak. :coffee:

Chalk it up to another Donny who doesn’t understand the sport, sadly.

That’s a nonsensical statement. If you don’t watch games your opinions are inherently derivative and lacking original thought.
