So we payed 30 mio euros for Kumbula so he could warm the bench, Ibanez with errors, but we are playing with a high-line against the best counter attacking team. Ibanez playing 1on1 against Lazzari all the time.. Spina is too offensive. Maybe we could hava avoided the first goal if Pau Lopez communicated with Ibanez.

Not just high line, We were also playing somewhat of tiki-taka in defense. When we can have cleared the ball, instead some difficult passes were going on in dangerous areas. If the opponent pressures our defense, it makes us do those silly mistakes. I have hated this style forever, it has been Baldini & Pallotta dream to implement it. I hope we go more into the school of coaches like Capello, Ranieri, Mourinho....
I've called out Ibanez error proneness numerous times here. No surprises here for me. He needs a brain. Only time will tell if there's one actually in there. Passed them off the park you say? Yes, its Lopez fault for not telling Ibanez that the player he just duelled with didn’t disappear into this air. This is the 3rd time Ibanez ********s up and Pau gets blamed for it. Need better from everybody, they dug themselves into a hole and have to climb back. Fonseca might need to bring in Cristante for a defender.
I think a prioritized result approach, would help this team get 4th spot. And perform better in big games.
They both went toe to toe at the start. Attacked our weak spots. They've happily given up possession now in a position to keep getting counters. Can you say we have a good game plan to break down a defense? Roma good on the counter themselves but not sure about a parked bus. They need luck or some magic early on.
