Flan was screwing with the posters. BTW, for those who don't know, he was one of the original Yanks Abroad contributors, when the site was first started by Chad Winger.
153 Appearances, 40 Goals and at a place called Fulham a skeptical, knowledge set of supporter use the words McBride and Legend in the same sentence. They named a bar in the stadium in his honor http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2009/June/McBrides.aspx What's he done? Enough. I would say Mcbride after about the year 2004 was mediocre for the USA. He played well in England but really did not do much for us against the big teams in Red, White and blue.
yup, i remember him well...a good poster. his post was meant for a legion of mcbride haters pre-wc'02. and even after his god-like performance vs the portuguese, these idiots still made fun of his whiff in the match vs the poles...
Sarcasm of this thread aside, I think there's been an "X Sucks!" thread for pretty much every player in the pool at one point or another... I'd go so far as to say if BS Nation had been around in the 1930's, we'd have seen a "Billy Gonsalves Sucks!" thread then...
Well, I can say McBride sucks...As a TV presence. His pregame analysis before City v. Barcelona was wooden, and he's no Max Bretos. But other than that, the guy was a class act on the pitch.
He's too nice at the job. Not exciting enough. But from what I seen of him, he's improving. Still looks a bit shocked to be on tv.
