Thanks 'dolo!!! Hey Clint...make sure you give a big thank you to your new american teammate. Sounds like he put in a good word for you. To summarize: Hannover 96 - Mathis/Cherundolo Fulham FC - McBride/Bocanegra Maybe next year: Tottenham - Convey/Keller Manchester - Donovan/Howard - hey, a guy can dream...
Congratulations to Mathis. We wish you the best. You were a great Metro. Have a great time in Europe. Allocation please.
Would the Metros get an allocation? MLS got nothing for Clint so it's not likely that they'd give something to the Metros.
Allocation rules are arbitrary at best, but MLS has set precedents for teams whose franchise player has either run out of contract or retire to get an allocation. It's not a lock, but it is deserved. If he re-signed with MLS he'd still be a metro. We had a max salary player leave in a deal somewhat out of our hands, an allocation would not be underserved.
http://www.nydailynews.com/01-20-2004/sports/story/156434p-137452c.html "Armed with two player allocations from the league and three discovery player selections, coach Bob Bradley is scouring the world for attacking midfielders and forwards." I know one of those allocations is from the Howard move. Where did the other one come from?
Let see if he'll put up all the metro supports going to Germany in 06. He'll probably have a nice bar.
And Bocanegra was out of MLS contract as well, they got nothing but still gave Chicago an allocation. Jamison is right with that "arbitrary at best" comment, but I would be very suprised that Metro would get hosed on this one, considering he's worth it just for that work he did with Wolff against Mexico.
And we obviously never will. Old history. One was given for Bocanegra, and Mathis deserves one as well for everything he did while in MLS.
It's better than our away shirts. Kinda looks like a one-eyed guy smiling. It would look better with a collar.
I think the president (yeah- the hairy nosferatu guy at the right... ) is giving him a very "warm" welcome Welcome at Hannover Clint (some fans alrady named him Clint Commander...) - Hope you'll mark some great goals for the Reds!
What happened to the vaunted 5th division in Mexico? Thank god that garbage has gone away. Anyway, Mathis has joined a pretty good club in one of the top 4 leagues in the world. I hope he makes the most of it, for the Nats sake at least.
good question 96 plays at home in red(+black) shirts(+ white Sponsor-Logo)(foto) and black shorts. (http://212.185.115.116/isroot/fanshophannover96/ShopImages/96052_big.jpg) Away it's white(+green) + red sponsor Logo and white shorts. () and sometimes they play in grey(only away) http://www.rote-erleuchtung.de/wir/11/m03.jpg Cause of the red shirts 96 is named "the reds" But the colours of the team (flags etc.) are black, white and green. http://www.stadionwelt.de/Stadionwe...304/HANNOVER_bayern0304/sz_H96_fcb0304_04.jpg http://212.185.115.116/isroot/fanshophannover96/ShopImages/96021_big.jpg http://www.rote-erleuchtung.de/wir/06/img002.jpg
Thats a cool fricking flag, and the red and black jersey is nice.. Not sure about the white and green jersey...
The "winkie guy" is the logo of the team-sponsor "tui (http://www.tui.com/en/)"- touristic union international... so it's not the winkie guy - it's a "t" an "u" and an "i" merged together... ;-)
