Could it be that Coach Bob meant it literaly that the MLS cup is the only goal. Since the USOC is forgone, has Clint been instructed to play up his ineffectiveness to the point where the Revs will hardly mark him seriously. Has Bob been secretly working with Clint to uunleash his real game during the playoffs when it matters the most? There were a coupla times that Clint seemed on the verge of bringing it all back home... then fell short. Was he just was sitting back, hanging on the ropes, biding his time to suddenly swing back? I don't think that soccer is like boxing where you can just turn it on or turn it off. It's tough enough being a good scorer, and when was the last time Mathis led the league in goals? He probably would have in 2000, but with the injury, we'll never know.
