My match today is almost over.

Playing TIE I scored 324-2 and my opponent is 148-9.

This should boost my runrate and push me up the promotion ranking, but not close enough to auto-promote as I lost last week.

I am trying sets of 5 for my bowlers today, seems to be working out ok.

Well finally got the last wicket at 205. Quite a last wicket stand for him.

Bowlers not taking wickets, but managing to restrict the scoring rate... I'd really hope for more than 2 wickets after 25 overs though...

    End of Over 20: 69-2, runrate=3.45

2 quick wickets and things are looking much better... should have a target of less than 180 to chase. Which likely means no 100s for any of my batsmen.

    :D

Played TIE at home to the top team expecting an absolute bruising - ended up winning comfortably

It was a major WTF match - check out the ratings!

    Sherwood CCC Guernsey XI
    Top Order: mediocre strong
    Middle Order: mediocre competent
    Lower Order: abysmal woeful
    Seam Bowling: competent competent
    Spin Bowling: respectable superb
    Fielding: feeble feeble

Obviously I got very lucky but i'd like to think some of the major tactical changes I made for this match had something to do with it.

This really made my day - I reckon my chances of staying up just about quadrupled :D

I'm giving Seargeant the day off against a bot (he was due for a rest). I shifted my normal fourth-order man into the opener slot, and it's paying off... he's on a century with better than a run-per-ball strike rate. Hopefully, I'll still put up a big enough target to hold my NRR lead over 2nd place in the series.

This is some interesting flavor text: "Yes, got him! Shove that up your arse Tony Grieg. Simply marvellous effort! What a hero! Knocked the middle stump clean out of the ground!"

Laurent gone after posting 126 on 125 balls.

    Rose 2-0-6-0
    Oak* 6 (11 balls)
    Middlebrook 6 (7 balls)

woohoo. put up a good total. All 4 batsmen with half centuries and a century for my opener! He's been my best batsmen by far this season, with an avg in the 60s against some really good bowling. I'm sure the 198* against the bot in the cup helped!

    now to get some wickets

Yes, I saw that in my commentary as well. I was a bit shocked and confused.

Won my match by 10 wickets... only improved my NRR by 2.9 though.. not sure if that's going to be enough to keep me in the hunt for a qualifyer... only good thing is it looks like an auto-promoter may lose a match today (AFI).

    EDIT
    WTF...

this is the 2nd time I've Normalled when I meant to TIE... I'm almost certain that I've made the move too... I don't understand wtf is going on here...

at least I got good ratings out of it...

    winningconnection
    Top Order: superb
    Middle Order: competent
    Lower Order: woeful
    Seam Bowling: proficient
    Spin Bowling: strong
    Fielding: competent

I'm happy w/ my top order, but the spin bowler has been hitting above his weight for quite some time now... I think he's going to pop in stamina soon.

My match is coming down to the wire. I was keeping the runrate down pretty well, but they've picked it up a bit lately. I got two wickets in the 43rd over, but that still leaves them with only five men out.

    End of over 44: 244-5, runrate=5.55, reqrunrate=4.17 (268-10)

so, i guess i screwed up and played a nonbowler as a bowler. He gave up 40 runs in 5 overs, but did just take a wicket. oops. at least it shouldn't cost me the match!

    64 run win!!

2 in a row. my team is getting hot. one more win and i'm not going to automatically go down. I'll still probably lose in a playoff though.

What was it at? I believe it floats to a mid-point similar to Hattrick Team Spirit

hmm... I thought moderate was middle but it could very well be fair.. fair sounds like it should be the middle right?

yes, the total of wickets u lose by is determined not by how many the first team loses when setting a total but rather how many/few the team chasing loses in its chase.
