It's the first time I manage to see Netherlands play at this World Cup (I had to miss the debut vs New Zealand): I hope it will be a good match! Also, I need panther-haired Van de Sanden to score for my fantasy football team! I guess this time @hotjam2 can't possibly be disappointed with the attendance: the standings are an orange wall!

22' 0-0 Cameroon longball from circle right bounces through box top mid-left. Van Lunteren swings to clear but slides down upon ball, ball leaks through to 13m mid-left as Aboudi Onguene hops over her and collects. Bloodworth(?) closes her down, Aboudi Onguene shoots right instep and hooks it wide left low, into left side netting. Gabrielle Onguene misses a big chance for Cameroon after an incredible ball played out of the back. Fun start to this one on FS1! #FIFAWWC pic.twitter.com/nR0LZ4rAS8— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) June 15, 2019 23' 0-0 Spitse comes back and rips ball away from Aboudi Onguene, who spins down and stays prone. Stoppage, trainer brings ... a new pair of shoes? Quick change of cleats Who was that? 25' 0-0 Aboudi Onguene steps into near touch, limps to 4R ... where van de Sanden also awaits to return. They return.
Play was stopped for quite a few minutes there after a foul by Shanice van de Sanden. The referee spent a lot of time talking to several players on both sides, including Gabrielle Onguene, who appeared to throw water in the direction of the Netherlands substitutes bench. No-one was booked, however. This is on FIFA's website.
26' 0-0 Aboudi Onguene drives to 6m box left, van Lunteren slide-pokes ball away, Aboud Onguene trips over her leg into box. Wow, she's hitting the ground a lot. 29' 0-0 Van Es left throw-in at midfield. Her metatarsal healed enough 30' 0-0 Groenen cross to 12m 6-right, Johnson(?) clangs it square left to van de Sanden at 12m mid-right, Meffometou(?) clears it away from her just in time. 30' 0-0 Yango shoots from 25m center? Medium speed, bounces and rolls harmlessly to van Veenendaal.
32' 0-0 van Lunteren jumps for a header just as Enganamouit comes across her front, back-to-chest friction rotates van Lunteren horizontal and she lands heavily on her back/right side from 1.5m up. Stoppage, trainers. That had to hurt!! Desiree van Lunteren takes a heavy fall after going up for a challenge.#OptusSport #NEDCMR #FIFAWWC pic.twitter.com/sM4c1b8qij— Optus Sport (@OptusSport) June 15, 2019 34' 0-0 van Lunteren walks into near touch, dabbing a bloody nose with a towel, Netherlands resume with 10. Drop ball to Cameroon: not a foul, just a stoppage for possible head injury. 35' 0-0 Aboudi Onguene left throw-in at 5m, too hard past Enganamouit(?) at box mid-left, it bounces to van Veenendaal. This match is by far the most intense in terms of 1-v-1 duels: both sides are willing to go in and fight for the ball, and they're both strong at it.
I guess Ngo Mbeleck should have seen Red here, and not just Yellow. Very dangerous, worth being directly sent out.
37' 0-0 Ngo Mbeleck turns to a loose ball and races Groenen for it, inexplicably swings-and-jumps, ticks ball away and follows through with right foot 5' up Groenen is already ducking aside, still takes cleats to her -- right wrist held above her right bicep. She stays down momentarily. Foul, yellow card on Ngo Mbeleck -- for dangerous play. What the heck? 1139890298279084032 is not a valid tweet id Yellow card for THIS?!? 😳 #FIFAWWC pic.twitter.com/Uo6xjqayYz— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) June 15, 2019
Actually Christine Manie had already been Yellow Carded, before Ngo Mbeleck a few minutes ago. But this game would justify more cards, and the ref doesn't look like she's controlling it very well. Meanwhile Miedema scores.
41' 1-0 #_ long switch from midfield mid-left to van de Sanden at arc top wide right. van de Sanden plays a fast give-and-go with Groenen, chases down box right to 6m box right -- meanwhile, Miedema makes her run through box top arc left. One-touch cross to 6-top center, Miedema front-cuts Manie and drills a header into back left low, with Ngo Ndom stranded. THERE SHE IS! Vivianne Miedema heads in a great cross from Van de Sanden for her first career #FIFAWWC goal and her 59th for the Dutch - tying the national team record at just 22 years old. 😱 pic.twitter.com/lsW8MAsT9V— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) June 15, 2019
