Did you hear about the motorcyclist who was killed by lightning a day or two ago? I forget where he was, but he was on a highway, I believe, and the lightning struck his helmet, cracked it open, he careened off into the median and was killed.
77' 0-0 Guerrero trips Asllani flat at arc top box left. R1 gives advantage, but #_ gets stopped 1-v-1 at 8m mid-left, R1 awards the foul. 78' 0-0 Sweden fk at arc top box left, trick play: Eriksson decoys, #_ snipes right instep ground pass to 16m left post.Sembrant pops free and one-touch through-ball to 3m 1/3 left. Fischer veers inside and almost gets there, Endler smothers it. Tricky two-touch combo with everybody else moving to create a gap thereat. 81' 0-0 Sweden subs in (3 of 3) #7 Madelen Janogy for #23 Elin Rubensson.
They knocked, and knocked, and knocked, and finally the door opened. Poor clearance by the Chilean player, and Asllani has scored for the Swedes.
83' 0-1 Sweden serve to arc top, Janogy juggles ball to box top center, pokes it to 12m 1/3 left. Guerrero(?) clears it point-blank off Anvegard's shins, ball rebounds to 9m center. Asllani has inside position on Toro(?), arrives first and shoots left instep bend rising over Endler's right hand, into back left high. Well, by now I was somehow rooting for Chile to hold with the draw, but in the end I guess I was right that the break gave a little advantage to Sweden and allowed them to re-organize themselves.
86' 0-1 Asllani chips from circle top to box top center, Jakobsson runs on and flick-volleys over Endler coming out, it drops just over the roof. 88' 0-0 Anvegard long ground pass from 30m center to Jakobsson at box top right. Jakobsson touches back to 18m mid-right (her spot ), shoots left instep bend over bar.
How many times is Jakobsson going to put to ball over the net before she decides to change her approach? That’s like #4
90+1' (of +5') 0-1 López bullet ground pass from box top wide left to Lara facing away at 15m center, zero-rebound ball stop. Lara pauses, spins ccw and shoots right roundhouse just over right 90.
Janogy dribbles half of Chilean defense before slinging a perfect shot: very good goal. Two minutes later Lopez make a rough tackle out of pure frustration and gets a Yellow Card: I wouldn't have found harsh a direct Red here.
90+4' (of +5') 0-2 Asllani pokes ball loose to Janogy at 30m mid-right. Janogy turns and dribbles through box top mid-right, gets pinched 1-v-3 and powers her way through them all, to 14m mid-right. Sharp cut left shakes all four defenders, Janogy opens a huge window at 13m 1/4 right, shoots left instep rising off Endler's left hand, into back right high. Fresh legs and perfect technique 1138516012117180416 is not a valid tweet id FT 0-2. Chile were valiant, but Sweden has weapons on the bench.
So glad to see Asllani scores the opener, but I do feel Sweden's style is a bit outdated, they lack of the pressure and running.
in an friendly earlier this year vs against an debuting NT, they couldn't score against Republic of Catalonia, how to expect them to score in this one?
I could be biased, but I found Endler one of the best GKs seen at this WWC so far. FIFA official highlights of the game:
your not being biased, she's always been one of the best & perhaps the main reason that Chile is in the WC. No coincidence either that she plays for PSG, a club that seeks out underrated players/or players not yet in their prime but have the ability to b among the best(prev. & current ones like Heath, Horan, Huitema, Lawrence, Katoto, Baltimore, ect). I personally prefer NZ;s Naylor as my fav, & of course Schneider as a guilty pleasure. All 3 got sort of the advantage though as hteir see way more action than the GK's playing on higher ranked teams
