Well, i guess that it is right time to start this thread.

Their only match was friendly in Seoul 1997. Serbia (FR Yugoslavia in that time) won 3-1.

Interesting thing is that both countries were coached by the same guy Milan Zivadinovic. Serbians never liked that guy because FA put him on that place due his political connections. He is remembered as one of the worst coaches that we ever had. It would be interesting to hear Ghanaian opinion about him. Another Serbian who coached Ghana was Ratomir Dujkovic, but he has great reputation in Serbia.

Ghana is coached by Milovan Rajevac, Serbian who is typical representer of old Yugoslav coaching school. Meaning, ugly football, no risk, waiting for the opponents mistake, strong and defensive midfield, and what midfield they have. Ghana is also crippled because of injuries.

Serbia is coached by Radomir Antic and he wants to change things in Serbian football. Serbia has new style of playing. Very disciplined, strong defense and attacks, usually, trough the wings. Serbia is crippled because some of their very important players are out of form, specially keeper.

if he wants to play ugly he has the right man in boateng but i think the refreeing will be quite strict and its germanys last game hopefully we can rest our most important players by then

I just don't see Ghana scoring unless it's a fluke goal, goalie blunder or wonder strike from 30 yards out. We should win this game but we can just as easily choke and self destruct.

I think Serbia is due for a good performance at the World Cup.

If Serbia is planing to do something in this world cup they have to win Ghana game. Ghana has better midfield and their game is based on that. Serbia will have huge problems if Ghana scores first. Key in this game for Serbia is in possession and enough passes to the wingers and strikers. Key for Ghana is in holding Serbia away from their goal, meaning that they have to control midfield even on a price of lots of fouls on center of the pitch. Ghana will play very aggressive.

According to the Serbian trainings lineup will be this:

    -------------Stojkovic----------------

    Ivanovic - Vidic - Lukovic - Obradovic

    Krasic - Stankovic- Milijas- Jovanovic

    -------Zigic ------- Pantelic-----

This is a bit more offensive team because Obradovic is in the team. Meaning that the right side of Ghana defense will have lots of job because of him and Jovanovic.

I am expecting boring game without much chances, but early goal can change everything.

I am surprised how much everyone is underestimating the Ghanaians. They aren't a one-man team.

    Re: Match 8|Ghana vs. Serbia|13.06.2010| Pre-match discution

I am not underestimating Ghana. Playing ugly is legitimate tactics, who cares about beauty of the football if u have result? Most of Italian games are examples of an ugly football.

There was a hype on Ghana because of names that they have and because of great result that they had in Germany. Some of the posts of Ghana supporters in past were very underestimating for the other teams or players. That caused some distance to the Ghana. Also, noone is 100% objective here, we are not coaches or experts, we are supporters who cheer our teams and who tease opponents fans.

I hope that Serbia will win 5-0 tomorrow, Ghana fans hope that their team will win. I am looking for bad sides of their team and they are looking for bad sides of my team. It is normal.:)

Will this be the first match where morea than 2 goals will be scored?I certainly hope so!With the players on both side this one could truely be offensive...I predict a 2-2 draw.

Ghana could well be the team most depleted by injuries coming into the WC.

Pantsil recovering from injury and probably not able to play full 90, no Inkoom, Appiah and Muntari not able to start, and of course no Essien.
