    W00T we're here again after 32 years.

    Holland - Germany/Spain 3-2

Think the Dutch will have a full bench again for this encounter, hope the starting line up won't be nervous and reserved. Perfect opportunity to wash those "slight" wins away with a profound victory and claim the cup! Here's hoping for a heroic epic battle! Just one more match to win guys!

Don't think this is the thread to speculate on opponent, but I'm hoping it's Germany, seeing as we have a history together. Besides, if they manage to best Spain, they have had to fight through an extremely tough road to the finals, and did so convincingly. Spain ofcourse would also be nice, since qualitywise, they may be the best team of the tournament on paper, and they have never won a cup yet. We'll see in about 18 hours....

    Good luck!

I'm barracking for the Dutch, and have been since Australia were knocked out, but I've got to say - I don't like their chances against either team from the other side of the draw.

It's a harsh thing to say about a team that beat Brazil en route, but they just aren't playing that well. They seem far more reliant on Robben for attacking impetus than they did in qualifying.

Spain would be nice... so both teams will allow each other time and space to build possesion and look for openings. Not to mention we'll have a brand new WC champ... of course I want that to be the dutch ;)

Regardless of who comes from tomorrow's games, Holland will need to be more incisive in front of goal, as the chances will be at a premium. Scoring the first goal will also ensure 80% the chance of lifting the trophy.

They aren't playing well beyond little spells but they keep on winning. What would happen if they actually started playing? They are even playing and winning without a scoring centre forward. Let's see how good Germany or Spain really are when they face the Netherlands. It could be that the Dutch are coasting on luck alone but the answer will be given soon enough.

Actually, it's not so much a reliance on Robben. We wasted 2 or 3 potentially good attacks yesterday on constantly seeking Robben.

This is also something that needs to be taken care of. Robben is great, but he's not alone. Kuijt with acres of space is a good option as well.

And that's the thing... Seeking out Robbn gives us just that.

BTW, I want Germany. I think every Dutchman does.

If nothing else a European team will finally win a world cup held outside Europe.

I think this will be a very close game and I don't think we can underestimate the Dutch. I hope it will be a Germany - Holland final for the simple fact that I think that Holland stands a better chance against them.

Van Persie struggled the first games after he came back from an awful injury but against Uruguay he showed more flashes of what he is capable of and I hope he will be ready to explode in the final.
To get a taster of what probably/hopefully comes in the final watch the wonder goals scored by Dutch in tournements:

The theme at this world cup has been role reversals.

On that note: football is a game between two teams with 11 men and at the end the Dutch always win.

Spain is impressive. Doesn't look like we have to count on a lot of possession against them in the finals.

*Never rule out the Germans though. Ringing in the back of my mind.

Even though uglier to watch, I think Portugal created more chances of goal than Germany.

    This was quite disappointing.

Oh well, Spain is incredible in every aspect of the game. They have to be considered favourites.

Guaranteed new Champion. That's great. Also the two teams I predicted and most wanted to play the final.

Excellent match up for the World Cup. This has been an exciting tournament thus far with dramatic goals, referee controversy and we're going to end up with a new champion.

This is the single greatest sporting event in the world.

My feeling says that we're going to lose this one. On the other hand, the Spanish defense isn't very robust either nor does Spain score easily.

What happens when you have two teams that rely on a possession game face off? Usually the technically better team (in this case, Spain) wins. Although I'll be hoping for a bit of Euro 08 magic a la France and Italy when the Oranje counterattack was blistering.

Unfortunately, Spain just knocked off the best counterattacking team in the tournament.

I don't expect the Oranje to win, certainly they shouldn't be favored, but anything can happen in a WC final.

    Hup Holland Hup!

    LOL.

This may not be a very good match, but a new champion will be great. Spain has to stop squandering chances - they were very lucky to get away with it against Germany.

I think Spain will do a France rerun , except France did it with The WC then Euro and Spain will do it with a Euro then WC.
