How do the Dutch view Van Gaal ? He seems to be an interesting character. One of those brutally honest types with no filters. Or am I wrong ?
We’re bashing him these days for the style of football played in the World Cup. Van Gaal is a very respected manager in the Netherlands. I’m a Cruijff fanboy and even I admire what he has accomplished.
Some highlights from the match yesterday... we brought some toys along with us which came in handy after the goals lol....
Youtube comments? Fans? This is not happening only with Brazil. The "you guys are overconfident and it'll bite you in the ass" can be said for fans of EVERY World Cup participant in every World Cup and it just so happens that ONE set of fans gets away with it.
Lol. This is not exclusive to Brazil. Even ********ing Saudi fans were so arrogant and confident after their victory against Argentina to the point they made the "Where is Messi?" thing. Some fans are being extreme in supporting their teams and that's fine with me.
Spain couldn't defeat Morocco and fell on PKs. Not that Spain is a bad team; I'm sure Spain would have given Brazil a challenge. But a team that couldn't defeat Morocco could beat Brazil? And is Spain a "1st tier/level/line UEFA team?"
As long as Brazil is in the tournament, nothing is certain for France. As long as Brazil is in the tournament, nothing is certain for England. As long as Brazil is in the tournament, nothing is certain for the Netherlands. As long as Brazil is in the tournament, nothing is certain for Spain... Oh, wait....
I just nailed my bold prediction of Morocco reaching the quarterfinals. I don't care about Spain being out. As long as the semi-finals has Netherlands and the final one of France or England as opponent nothing is certain for Brazil.
You mentioned "UEFA 1st tier teams," and now that Spain - whom you vaunted as a team whose presence in the tournament meant "nothing is certain for Brazil" - is out courtesy of Morocco, you won't answer a simple question. Caring or not caring isn't the point. You highlighted Spain as a team which could be a threat to Brazil. That team, Spain, is now out thanks to Morocco. So much for your bragging about "UEFA 1st tier teams," which is an all too broad statement. Just grab the strongest teams from UEFA and say "nothing is certain for Brazil because of them." It's like saying nothing is certain for a strong NBA or NHL team because other similarly strong NBA or NHL teams are still in the playoffs. Insurance by numbers. But of course, since you imply Europeans are all the same, I guess Albania should be a "UEFA 1st tier team" via its membership in UEFA. When is Albania going to participate in the World Cup?
Shades of when Haiti beat El Salvador on aggregate in 1970 WCQ... but aggregate wasn't the rule, so it went to a tiebreaker game and we lost
Ha, I also think MLS used to work that way... playoffs like a series rather than aggregate.... it was best out of 3 matches....
It's possible to block Brazil. If you let them, you get 4,5 goals. But, it's possible. They needed points in the group stage, but their opponents showed resistance. I don't include Cameroon so much, Brazil solved their group already. Is South Korea so bad, or Brazil is just too good?
